Title: Crosman Nitro Venom tuning?
Post by: Mohl on May 28, 2021, 03:03:44 PM
Hi all,

I've had a nitro venom for a few years now, it does "ok" but I'd like to make it better. I saw CDT B19 super tune, however, it is not for a nitro AG. I've been looking around in the library but have yet to find anything for the nitro venom. Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

There's not a lot you can do for a gas spring gun.  Of course there's the normal deburring and lubrication.  I found the trigger critical on my Nitro Venom.  I tried the GRT III from charliedatuna.com but felt the pull was too easy and there was no adjustment.  I purchased an NP2 trigger assembly from Crosman - it's a drop in fit.  I removed the original spring, replacing it with a softer one and with a bit of lubrication and a few nylon washers had a decent two stage trigger.  You might improve things a bit for yourself by sizing the piston seal.  It should only take two to three pounds of force to move the mounted, lubed piston and seal through the compression tube.  Beyond that there's the matter of barrel stability.  You can purchase some 8 mm brass washers or make your own out of bronze (see attached).
