Hello guys,
It is time for me to buy new toy for big guy. Originally I am zeroing on FX Wildcat M3 700mm on .25 cal.
But now I saw this FX IMPACT M3 and I am just wondering if I will buy .30 cal in 700mm. Can I change the barrel to down size it to .25/600mm just for backyard target shooting without changing alot of parts just to fit it.
Or the other way. Buy FX IMPACT M3 in .25/600mm then change it to .30/700mm barrel without changing alot of parts just to fit it.
when I go outdoor hunting?
I know this is still new air riffle out there but barrel in different sizes are available now on FX IMPACT M3.
Thank you in advance

I think you'd be happy with either but whether or not you can get the gun and or parts for it is questionable. I'm still trying to find a 700mm barrel for my Maverick and they're out of stock everywhere.

You will have to re-tune for each caliber. Make sure you record all your settings before changing. You will need to change the barrel, probe, and magazine.
I did this for a while between .30 and .22. Too much trouble so got another rifle in.22 and set the Impact back to .30.

If I’m not mistaken can’t caliber swapping be done cheaper than they sell kits for? Looking through the parts diagrams. All the 700 mm call barrels use the same steel outer barrel. All one would really need is the silver barrel adapter, transfer port, and liner lock. The .25 and .22 use the same liner lock with the .22 needing an o-ring added to it. The .30 cal has its own liner lock. The silver barrel adapter are all dependent to caliber as well as transfer ports.. then of course you need the respective probe and mags for a given caliber as well.
Granted having multiple steel outer barrels will make things a lot easier when swapping.

I change caliber on my FX MkII all the time.
I suggest reading up on how to do it.
It's a little more than just swapping a barrel.

Thank you very much on all the information that you guys provided. I am really taking notes on all of this.

a 30 cal uses a 13 gram hammer and the 25 comes stock with an 11 gram hammer . EDIT .. Sorry this applies to the Maverick. I do know the 35 Cal M3 uses washers to increase the hammer weight over the 30 cal. Plus the slug kit uses washers for the 25 and 22 to increase hammer weight. So you might want to check the hammer weight differences first.. Just a thought.
Plus the probes are different for each.
The barrel kits are supposed to include the probe but NOT the hammer
Personally I would purchase the 30 cal first and just lower the power wheel instead of buying an 11 gram hammer when converting to 25 cal
