Title: Fill port facing north and south
Post by: Chuck on May 15, 2021, 09:03:34 PM
Hello Bob and Lloyds Workshop,
I have a question about my Gamo Urban 22.  The fill ports face North and South meaning one port is blocked by the barrel and I have to bend the hose from my pump up into the bottom port to fill it.  Is there a way to rotate the fill ports to East and West?  And if so, how?  I would post a pic but I'm not allowed yet.  Thank you for any and all help you can give.
Chuck.

I assume you are saying that when you tighten the bottle in place, the ports on the regulator are in the wrong orientation?.... Usually the solution is to simply stop turning the regulator when the ports are on the sides, and then fill with air.... The air pressure puts load on the threads, and friction holds them in that location.... Regulators do not need to be tightened all the way to the bottom, and they usually have plenty of threads for strength when they are still 1/4 turn from bottomed out....

It likely says that in the instructions....

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your reply.  As I am still fairly new to airguns I read your reply and something didn't seem right.  I checked the instructions and the parts diagram and don't see a regulator anywhere.  I do, however, see a lot of results about adding a Huma regulator to the Urban.  I also don't understand when you say, "tighten the bottle in place..."  Unless you are referring to the air reservoir I'm confused.  The rifle came assembled right out of the box.  Now I'm wondering if I'm supposed to tighten something?  Loosen something?  I'll dig some more and see if I find anything.  When I hit 20 posts I'll post a pic.  Maybe that'll help.  Thanks again though.  I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Chuck, I believe Bob was thinking the Urbam used a bottle vs  a tube...IIRC the Urban is a tube gun.

On most tube guns you can clock/index the fill adapter by turning it in or out to achieve the desired position of the fill probe.  But, in order to do so you must first degas/depressurize so that you can turn the fill port.

You may need to re-index the gauge to your preferred viewing angle, I'd so I recommend only turning the gauge itself clockwise as it seals by compressing an oring as it is tightened....

This question would get more exposure over n the main PCP board, there are lots of Urban owners there....

I apologize, I thought the Urban was a regulated bottle gun, like the Gauntlet....  :-[

Please disregard my comments, and ask the question in the PCP Gate, as suggested....

You guys are great.  Thank you for the info.  I'll give the degassing a go and clockwise rotation.   Again, thank you for the time to reply guys.
