Title: Last Chipper of the summer
Post by: Tpatner412 on August 28, 2010, 07:44:21 PM
Went back home to Chicago last weekend for a few days and the last day that I was there I happened to see a lot of activity around the feeder.  So after missing a few opportunities on a squirrel at around mid-day I spotted a few chipmunks stuffing their faces with the bird seed.  I grabbed the Gamo Whisper DX .177 and loaded a 8.4 grain JSB.  Headed around the side of the house and saw this little one munching away.  I aimed and took my shot.  Sadly I missed high and he scurried off.  So knowing where the chippers like to hide out I walked into the back yard and found two of them hanging out near my back equipment shed.  I lined one up and pulled the trigger.  He literally flew back on impact.  I've  never seen anything like it.  Got it right in the heart.  Fattest cheeks I have ever seen.  I could actually feel the seed still in there.  :o  Headed down to school now and I will see about getting a rifle down at my house in KY.  Hopefully it wont be a problem.

Happy hunting brothers  :D

Well actually Ed I just picked up a disco on the yellow so hopefully in a week or so I'll be able to do some hunting while I'm in Kentucky as well :)
