My Benji 317 will not pump up if it is not cocked. Is this normal? As long as I cock it first, pump it and then load it,
it shoots okay, but does not have the power of my 310. Both rifles have been professionally re sealed. It seems like it
needs some sort of adjustment, but I have no idea what to do! Thanks for any suggestions.

It's normal for some older multi-pumps to require cocking before pumping. Loss of power could be any number of things. Is the gun well lubed?

The last 342 I resealed had the same problem. I had it apart 5 or 6 times before figuring out the hammer spring was about 3 coils too long. It was overcoming the exhaust spring valve with the bolt closed. Just pulling back on the bolt was usually enough to let it pump up.
If this is your problem then the solution is easy enough, remove the stock, take off the trigger, remove the two screws holding the hammer in and clip a coil or two off of the hammer spring. Put it back together and see if it is working better. Just don't take too much at a time on the spring.
Does your gun dump all of the air at 8 pumps?
