Title: Red Ryder wont cock

My 1938b red ryder got a jam so I had to disassemble it and I went to put it together and when I go to cock it everything goes back like it should but the trigger isn't latching onto the spring part, it makes a quiet click noise but it doesn't latch. I'm hoping someone here can help me please.

If the lever is worn, this can happen. If you have another Daisy on hand, you can try its lever on the no-cock gun to see if it cocks. You can use a straight lever if that's all you have.

I did look at the lever and it is a very worn plastic one so that might be why, thanks.

I'll have to get a picture of mine, but I inlet the end and formed a piece of sheet metal over mine when the lever got worn.
