Title: Best Pellet for .177 Discovery? And... best Crosman Pellet for cheap?
Post by: 777funk on September 24, 2011, 07:51:40 PM
I've noticed that my .177 Disco doesn't like the Crosman hunting (pointed pellet) but it shoots very accurately with the destroyer ex pellets. Both are on the cheap side at only $2 for 250 at walmart. They are good enough for me.

Curious what you've found to work.

Also, is there anything to do to make the discovery better or more accurate?

Find a pellet that it really likes is about the best thing you can do to improve accuracy try some domed or premier hollow points

mine loves the benjamin discovery pellets, but they arent cheap so i only use them for the skunks or squirrels. i use the cheap-o destroyer EX's for target practice

Mine likes anything as long as it's 10gr+. The Benj Discovery and Gamo T10 are what I'm shooting now.
That said, I have yet to find a pointed pellet that would group well in ANY airgun I've ever owned when shooting past 20 yds.

Mine just loves the .177 crosman hollow points that come in the tin of 500 at wally world.
Dime size groups at 40 yds are a walk in the park.
And squirrels at 60 yds are still in my "no fly zone"
Like was stated earlier, pick the pellet your particular gun shoots best and stick with it.
