Title: One of my QB79's
Post by: Mr. Panther on March 28, 2021, 03:20:00 PM
I took some sage advice from Nervoustriggerabout the spring. I decided to shim my hammer spring about .060" on my .22 QB79, as it would lock up above 1125. I took it apart put in a 036 Crosman breech seal in it, (as I finally had some to do it)in conjunction with my reworked valve. The highest p.s.i. available bottle I could test it with at the moment was set to 1175 and it worked flawlessly. I  resealed it after the tear down,  so no leaks, that is a + right there, LOL. I have a Williams " peep" sight on this and is my " Porch gun". I have hit and killed squirrels with it at 45 yards in this configuration of sights so it is a true set up for me. I want to give thanks for the advise and getting my " popper"  up to speed.  ;D  Now on to my other one I have in .177 set up the same way. that one is only set to 1050 p.s.i. with no modifications at all except for the paintball adapter. After that, my next project is making my gauntlet to fit in a modified QB78 stock from a new parts gun I bought. Never hurts to have a whole gun for parts LOL.  8)
