I got a Norica Dragon GRS in .177 cal today. I actually got 2 rifles today, but the Weihrauch 85 in .177 is in the German Gate. Both these guns came on the same day from different places! Just like the end of December when you're a kid! Anyways, I took a few shots over the chrony with the Dragon with Jsb 10.34 and H&N 10.65. Both were getting well over 1020 fps. until several rounds later when she started settling down around the high to mid 900's with both pellets. I did no accuracy shooting yet cause I am waiting on a new Discovery 6-24 optic to arrive, plus I think she might need a few tins through her first. I can't believe how fast it was shooting. Nice light and solid gun though. This is only my second Norica. I have a Quick in .22 that is super accurate at around 12.5 ft.lbs. I really like the Norica Brand. If I can get this Dragon to shoot as straight as the Quick, it'll be game over! 2 different animals though. Underlevers always seem less hold sensitive to me. Also less pellet fussy. I will post when I get some accuracy data on paper.

Nice, please keep us posted about your findings !

Congrats Mike. I hope it's a shooter for you.

I am presuming this is a new rifle, hence the high FPS with heavier ammo. I hope it settles down & is a great shooter !

I think you are going to like your new Norica.

I also picked up the Dragon GRS Evolution Max from an Amazon/Valken clearance last Fall. Had it shipped to my elderly parents house for (my) entertainment when I visit them. Due to the pandemic and my desire to NOT bring COVID into their home, I've had limited access to the rifle with only one (~80 pellets) shooting session.
My very limited review of the Norica Dragon GRS Evo Max...
The Dragon GRS Evo Max is DIFFERENT than the coil spring Dragon due to the GAS SPRING and suppressed & shrouded barrel with NO factory open sights (must be scoped).
It does have the Dragon stock (which I like) and the same hard direct sear trigger. Even though trigger pull is heavy, the break is predictable and consistent and I'm quite happy with that trigger performance when used as a hunting air rifle.
Ran some patches down the bore, but found it surprisingly clean from the factory.
Next thing I did notice was that the cocking effort seemed higher than the coil spring Dragon. That extra cocking effort was overshadowed by the more comfortable GRS suppressor/shroud diameter. The spring Dragon just has a bare steel barrel with a front sight. That is a much LESS comfortable cocking handle.
I started by shooting some 7.8 grain wadcutters at a 30' target. I'm guessing the suppressor and shroud are working, but my hearing was immediately assaulted by the supersonic crack of the pellets. The indoor basement shooting lane (~30') acoustics don't help. For the first 10 pellets I though it might just be factory lube dieseling that kicked the pellets supersonic. But there was no smoke (oil vapor) and no smell (that acrid burnt oil odor than can make my eyes water). I was still getting supersonic pellets (ouch!) at 40 shots with no signs of dieseling so I'm thinking the Gas Spring and the noticeably higher cocking effort are simply sending these lighter pellets supersonic. I think that's pretty impressive.
I'll need to use some heavier 10 grain pellets for my next session with that rifle. The extra fpe supplied by the Gas Spring in my rifle should send the heavier pellets out around 900fps. I can't confirm accuracy until next session, but based on past experience with other Dragons, Atlantics, and Spiders, I have no doubt the rifle will be as accurate as they are.
Hope you have good results with your new Norica!

Is the 'Quick' an under lever?
-
Looks like yes...

Okay, I saw it has the same trigger as a Dragon. I would still like to have one in wood just for the breach. I had a .25 Dragon springer and a Evolution in .177. Now I have a .177 Black Eagle and a .22 Massimo. They and the Marvic and Storm are the same gun with different stocks.
I read somewhere the TF89 was a clone of these guns. The triggers are the same.

If you ever need to go inside the Dragon ( isn't that a Bruce Lee movie ;) ) and can't find a specific guide to help, I suggest you bookmark this link

as there are some similarities between the GT600 and the Dragon.

Thanks for all the comments fellas. Here's a short update on the Dragon. As some of you already stated, the Dragon needs to be scoped. Let's just say that my Disco just lost some weight for this adventure. I have a 6-24 side adjustable parallax Discovery on the way. So I am now shooting the Dragon at 50 yards with very accurate results on the tops and bottoms (DEAD CENTER) of the empty cans! The scope is a 3-9x32 AO BugBuster. Looks and works beautifully on this Dragon. Honestly, I think these two should be sold as a kit. Now has a killer tactical look. What a combo! Definitely staying on the Norica. And the pellets that were used , H&N Baracuda Match 10.65. And like most hard working people on this site, I ran out of time after about 25 rounds. Don't worry guys, a big accuracy session at 50yds is coming to you soon with several different pellets.
God Bless,
Mike

I think it's Enter the Dragon, Mikeyb...lol.
We finally got some decent weather here and talk of your Norica made me think of mine and the fact I need to get it out of the case and shoot it some. Got it about broken in then life got in the way, so it's overdue and I never did get the scope mounted so there's that to do.
You mentioned Tactical, my Deadeye GRS .22 fits that bill pretty well. I'll just have to take some new pics once I get a scope on top.

Nice Deadeye Steve! I never seen that model till yours. Pretty Sweet! I'm posting an update on my Dragon GRS. I shot a 5 shot group today at just over 50 yds. and was pleasantly surprised and pleased. I didn't measure it yet. Not gonna do that till they're all touching, or at least all but 1. So things are progressing nicely with settling in and accuracy too. Really Really love this gun!
Thanks for looking guys.
God Bless,
Mike
