Title: Schimel Gp-22 needs repair
Post by: coopieclan on September 20, 2011, 09:02:45 PM
I am shopping around to have my Vintage Schimmel GP-22 re sealed.
I bought new seals from the Schimel website but I can't seem to get the thing to fire without leaking all the gas away.
I had a prolonged repair saga with a guy who could not get it done... The guy made me crazy.
I am sure all the parts are here. I even have a bakelite washer that is not shown in the Schimel diagram.

Buying this gun got me started in airgunning even though I have only sent about 10 shots down the barrel.
I really want to get it fixed.

I have not photographed it disassembled.
I don't know what year.... I suppose I could look @ the serial number.

Wheres the leak from?is it from the co2 seal or the ones in barrel.if co2 leaking at cartridge have you tried turning the seal around as these seals are hard to come by but can be flipped and work.

When last I worked on it the leaking was from the CO2. The gun's shooting-cup seals are fine.
I think it is the position of things around the piercing pin.
I have a full set of seals from Schimel (There is an active collection and preservation group that has a website and is run by the Schimel family)

If a airgunsmith on the forum tells me he has experience with these I will be willing to send it off and let him try.

The grips are not cracked. All the parts are there, not fused by corrosion, not bent or modified in any way.
