Title: R1 SuperMag .20 Barrel Chop...
Post by: AirTrigr on September 20, 2011, 01:14:01 AM
Slowly starting to work on my new AG project, my R1 "SG Hunter"... Just purchased a 19" original HW .20 R1 barrel with breech block from Pyramyd Air (4 a great price IMO, Thanks PA!).  Looking to have it chopped to approx 14-16".  Anyone have any recommendations on who I could send it to for the chop?  I assume it is choked, so it will likely need to have the breech block taken off and the barrel cut at the breech end??  Any ideas?  Thanks,

AT ;D

Steve at Pamona Air (http://www.pomona-airguns.com/ (http://www.pomona-airguns.com/)) can chop and choke the 16mm barrels at a reasonable price. I had a 177 barrel for my R9 done and it's the most pellet friendly and accurate springer I own.

What are you having done to it? :P

John is chopping the barrel to 16 inches, re-choking, crowning, PG2, lube deburr and button, hone etc etc....and is actually each day readjusting the seals and pre-charge vortek settings to achieve the exact tuned feel that makes his work so unique....he had some fantastic groups last weekend at 50 yds......but he still has gone back in twice since then as he just was not fully satisfied with his art. Consumate professional......Den
