Title: Free Hunting Day in TN is tomorrow!
Post by: Atchman2 on August 27, 2010, 03:04:15 PM
When that day rolls around it can only mean one thing-the official start of squirrel hunting season!  I'm hitting the woods on Sunday before Church with a guy from an adjacent town.  I'll be carrying one of my air guns.  If the foliage is so thick I can't get any shots, I have a backup plan-my old 20 gauge  ;D

I'm headed out coyote hunting in the morning.  I may tote a shotgun or air rifle with me in case of squirrels. My Whisper would be a good choice because it is accurate and light.

On top of that, I'm getting the "gun camera" ready for hunting.  Hopefully I'll get some good footage.

Sounds like me next week...my BC will be my primary but my Mossberg 500 will be my backup if things go downhill. Good luck to you!! Sept 4th is the official start of squirrel here in Virginia.

I've got two new places lined up.  The locals say they've heard them, but haven't seen any in awhile.  The nice thing is that one of them is heavily wooded so I can carry my shotgun for the coyotes and the Whisper for the squirrels! :)

I've been doing my best to get some new hunting lands.  I can always go out to Jim's but it is almost 40 minutes from my house.  These places are about 25 minutes and I don't have to walk across about half a mile of fields to get to the woods.  That gives me more time to hunt.

I even have fliers and business cards, plus permission forms!  Here is my coyote hunting card:
