Title: New Guy
Post by: nitris223 on September 18, 2011, 11:25:25 AM
Just got back into air gunning after being without one for 20 yrs.  Needed some squirrls taken care of.  I like the little guys , but when they start doing damage , they need to go.  Anyway I live in Saskatchewan, Canada and some of my hobbies are Hunting , Fishing, snowmobiling, Snowmobile / Atv mechanic, Welding, Self taught Machinist, Carpentry, Concrete work (money job ) Truck Driver ( money job) little bit of gunsmithing and of course shooting guns as much as I can.

I picked up a Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk 1000 fps.  First impressions were good .The scope was useless past 10 yards, it was blurry so that got replaced with a Stoegor 3x9x40.Until the 600 shot mark everything was good when the cocking arm bent and I could no longer use the gun ( 3 days old). Got that one replaced and the replacement was actually a faster shooter pushing out Benjamine 10.5 hallow points at 790 fps, old one was only 720 fps.

Anyways 2 weeks later the Stoegor scope has the eyepiece come loose and needs to be sent back for warranty. Put a Bushnell 4x12x40 Banner on now.  Should have did that in the beginning.   The Venom shoots Benny's pretty good and now I just finished shooting some JSB's and it likes the heavies and also the diabolo Exacts.  The Exacts are the most accurate at 20 yards so far.  Need to try 30 yrds now.  That is the max I can shoot in my back yard.

By the way Forum is awsome.

Welcome, Nitris.  We're glad you're here.  Make yourself at home.  You're among friends who like to shoot as much as you do and they even like to talk about it even more!!LOL

There's lots of stuff here to explore including the library and the "search' function.  Of course, when you're done exploring, grab a cup and sit down and talk to us.  Airgunning is a way of life for many of these guys.

Welcome. From the sounds of it, you found the right place.

Also sounds like you may be hard on airguns, hehehe. When you said the cocking lever bent on your Nitro Venom, do you mean the barrel? I'd be interested to hear how that happened, if you don't mind sharing it, hehehe.
