Ran across this very sweet pre '64 Sheridan Blue Streak last week. It would'nt hold air or pump up. I when I got it home I wiped it down and lubricated the pivots with a few drops of Crosmans Pel-Oil and kept trying to get it to hold air. I finally got it to grab a pump of air. I kept working with it and slowly I got it to shoot. Now after a couple of days of shooting it several times a day it is pumping up and holding a full charge over night with out problems and packs a wallop like Thor's hammer. I think shes back.

What I've learned is that if it doesn't have a date its pre '64. Its got a grooved receiver, hollow bolt knob, and notched front sight.

I'm really pleased with this deal.

I'm gonna love this "Vintage Gate". I love the vintage AGs and I've got a bunch of 'em.

Sweet looking Streaks you boys have there. BTW, all Sheridans came in one flavor - .20. It wasn't until they were taken over and the 397 (.177) and 392 (.22) were introduced that you could get a "Streak" in another caliber, although these and the current Streaks are sort of hybrids and not like the older guns.

Nice find DD, got to love the build of the older Sheridan's.
-
Yep. Sheridan made some good stuff.

If I get some time tomorrow I'll take some pictures of my "Vintage" stuff. I've got 3 Sheirdans, 2 Benjamins, a new in the box Crosman 140, Hahn "45" and cant remember all the vintabge AG's I've got stashed away.
Love the Sheridans, I'd trade my ranch in SE Colorado for an "A" model.

Very nice! I just received a brand new Sheridan and while I really like it, it pales in comparison in the aesthetics department compared to your classic.
-
sure are some sweet old rifles.

That's the gun my dad had when i was a boy. We would walk up and down Bray's Buyou in Houston shooting cans and what ever other targets we could come up with. I may have have to hunt one of those down some day.

Very nice score and a real nice shooter.

Here's a link to see some Sheridan "A"

Scroll down just a little and you'll find "Registry List". Click on the highlighted serial numbers to see pictures of the "A"'s.

I've been watching the pawn/gun shops for old Sheridans. All I've found is an old Benji that wouldn't take/hold air and most of the nickel was worn off. They wouldn't go lower than $145.00 for it.
I liked it, but not enough to pay that much for one with lots of wear that doesn't work.
I may have to start haunting the gun shows and flea markets for one.

Yeah some places, don't understand ya can't get top dollar if it looks all banged up.
It might be worth top dollar if ya do a restore on it... but not before.
I've been eye-ing a crosman 1400 in the same situation.
You might also try airgun shows... there aren't alot of em... but the one I went to I was expecting to find just 1 gem... and ended up finding 3-4 that were in need of a lil TLC. If I'd been better prepared I would have gotten more. There were a couple a lil mid-to-high price wise sheridans, that'd already been restored by the seller. His prices weren't bad.
I haven't seen an air gun at a flea market in... 5-6 years unfortunately.
