Title: Sheridan 5mm Ammo
Post by: AlwaysLearning on September 18, 2011, 10:58:59 AM
I figured I'd add my only pre 1980 airgun item to the mix. A mostly full container of Benjamin 5mm ammo. On top of the container I added the .25 benjamin pellet and .177 cal Beeman FTS for comparison.

Very rarely you can find them still at estate sales, antique stores, flea markets...
Honestly though the Crosman "Benjamin Cyclindricals" that are available now for $11-12 for 500 a tin have worked great for me.

I just opened and started using my last yellow box :(

Maybe I should put it away and use the new ones...

I have about 500 .20 Sheridan cylindrical pellets from the 70s.. Along with a 1968 sheridan blue streak .20. Shoots great still

If you have either the yellow or red boxes of Sheridan pellets DON'T SHOOT THEM. There worth lots of money and even the empty boxes are collectable.

My '74 Sheridan wouldn't shoot the yellow box pellets. Got about a 12" spread at 20 yds with them. Put the gun away untill I found the red box (Made in West Germany) then got some pretty good groups till I found better.

Just go to ebay and search for them. I see them going for $15-$20 plus shipping a box. Just depends if you find the right person who wants them.
