Did you check the breech seal? That velocity is low for a .22 magnum. It only has two seals in it. Piston and breech, that's it. Rebuilt one once for a friend.

Hi Gary.

My name is Tom.

I have read ALL of your posts so far on your Benjamin NP XL rifles.

I used to own a 2010-2011 Gen. 1  Benjamin NP XL 1100 myself.

I used my rifle primarily for hunting.

I don't think that anyone works on these anymore except maybe John ( the tuner ) at Pyramid Air.

The velocity of your gun is not right.

It could be the - Breach seal - Piston Seal or the gas charge in the NP XL Nitro Piston.

AS for me...I would replace all three.

I would hone & de-burr the cylinder area first then put in a thin coat of moly before I installed the new Nitro Piston and new seal.
Also I would thinly coat the piston seal with moly.
These rifles can smoke a piston seal real fast if the cylinder area is not properly lubricated.

I hope I have been of some help to you sir.

Best Wishes - Tom

is there anyway you would be interested in building another for some cash to get the right fpe and fps I'd be very thankful I just don't really want to take the rifel apart myself

Changing the breech seal is easy. you just need a seal pic to get the old one out. It goes around the hole where you put the pellet to shoot. I got this set of seal pics from Harbor Freight for a couple bucks to do the job.

Besides, it'll cost more than the parts to ship it all the way to me in Ohio & back. And I'm not a tuner, just the village tinker with a good amount of experience in many things mechanical.
