Title: Question for LCS SK-19 Owners
Post by: cvicisso on January 20, 2021, 01:10:09 PM
Quick question...

How long (exactly) is the SK-19 with the shroud removed?

Trying to determine if it could be made 'backpackable.' Thinking of sticking it in a GGG Apparition pack with some kind of 'barrel condom' on it to keep out gunk while stowed.

Thanks in advance.

I also realize that due to the 'inherently unsafe' nature of the gun (can't remove magazine, no hammer, essentially always ready to fire, etc), I would need to also include some sort of trigger guard/cover when in a backpack.

Another idea for your review...

I didn't realize the SK-19 had different length shrouds, or that the moderator was removable. So...

Regarding the SK-19

From butt to end of barrel (sans moderator and shroud) is 28.25".   The shroud is 13.5" and the moderator is 4.75".  I'm not aware of the shorter/longer versions or how to obtain them.  In reality the barrel (without shroud) ends at about the same length position as my aztec scope (with shade).  In other words, it isn't overly long and should present no problem.  The LCS has two safeties (which are rock solid)...so gun should be safe backpacking if both safes are on.  Great gun for hunting and fun to shoot.  I can get about 2" group at 100 yds on a good day which isn't bad for a semi-auto with a longer trigger pull.

Thanks, Greg! That's exactly the info I was looking for. The bag I'm looking at sticking it in (Grey Ghost Gear Apparition) is 27" without unzipping and extending the little flap in the bottom. I was hoping to fit it in there (bag unextended), but no big deal - with the extension open, it can fit a weapon 33" overall. I'll just do that - then I can simply take the moderator off (instead of the entire shroud) for transport - it should fit fine that way - and offer more protection.

Thanks again!

You are very welcome.  Currently my SK-19 is back at the shop because of extreme spread in shot string...but 5-year warranty...so no biggie.

I am on my second LCS SK-19 .22 from AOA. The first one I had about a month and started leaking from the back. They sent me a label to ship it back and sent me a brand new one.

I have had the brand new one for two days and leaking already.

I might call AOA in the morning and have them email me another label and get a refund this time. These LCS are JUNK !!!!

Question I see most own the .25 think I would have better luck with a .25. I just own so many .25 air guns I figured I would get this in 22.

Hi Kendive

Sorry about your experiences with the SK-19.  My experience (so far) has been different.  I'm basically satisfied with the gun.  It looks to be well constructed and is accurate.  In my estimation it probably is more suited as a hunting rifle rather than a bench gun.  If your gun still leaked after receiving it back, it would seem that whoever fixed it (supposedly) missed something.  Once I receive mine back I'll post here regarding if the shot string consistency has improved.

Nobody fixed anything. They shipped me another brand new LCS SK-19. I just can't believe that I would have got two that leak. The only thing I have done is put .22 pellets in it and shoot it. Pretty sad. I don't trust this platform.

I own alot of different airguns and never had issues like this before.

Also is your the .25 or the .22?

Two rifles...same issue...can't say that I blame you feeling the way you do.  Mine is the .25.

Yea very strange. The first one was leaking around the receiver area. You could spray a soap solution on the back and it would bubble up pretty good. The more I shot it the faster it would leak. Called AOA and they sent me a label to ship it back and said they would ship a whole new one.

I have had the new one a few days and it leaks really slow but over night it will go from 250 bar down to 200 bar. It seems to hold or leak ever slower when at 200 bar.

I will call AOA back and either get them to send another label for a refund or I can try a .25. At this point not even sure I want one anymore.

Thanks for posting. :)

I got the leak figured out.

This is a very safe air gun. It has two safety's ??? Don't understand why it's not a safe gun. LOL

I let my 7 year old grand daughter shoot it.

Hey Ken,

Curious...what did you find out?

Just went through all the simple orings to get too with the video as a guide. Under the loading gate door I found one that was leaking very very slow. Almost did not find it.

I guess if you need to fix something...do it yourself.  Looks like an easy fix once identified.  Are you feeling a little better about the sk-19 now?

Yes it's always good to be able to fix things yourself. I have rebuilt and tuned several of my PCP's myself. Some I send off my Sumatra .25 Carbine to Will Paitt. I did not want to mess with it and I am having him do all the tune stuff to it also.

Yes the LCS SK-19 is great. My fav right now.

I had sent my SK-19 back to AOA for service as the shot string was inconsistent.  They tested it indoors and it was fine.  They surmised that cold weather (as in MN cold) affected the consistency.  Something to be aware of...

I have never notice a cold issue with the LCS but I also live in Florida.

I did not know they were gonna make a .30 LCS SK-19. You would have to run a double 580cc tank system on it.

I have the AGT Uragan .30 and it shoots great.

LCS SK19 still running great. I starting to notice more and more Leshiy 2 coming up for sale. One is selling there with a known leak. LOL

Glad I went for the LCS instead.

I saw that one, seller should explain things a bit better if he wants to sell it - such as what Leshiy 2 video by Edgun was he referring to, that talks about the "leak"? Like that was a known thing, which made it okay...? Really would like to see that video.
