I have been casually browsing around for .22 pellet and slug molds; and have been rather shocked to see that NOE seems to have almost nothing in stock in .22. Arsenal still has some heavier .22 slug molds; checked at Brownells and Midway for cheap Lee or Lyman molds and they are almost completely sold out of all calibers (plus they didn't have but a very few .22 caliber molds anyway). Does anyone have any recommendations as to where 30-ish grain .22 slug molds, or 15-20 grain .22 pellet molds are still available? Rather startled to see molds seemingly going out of stock everywhere; did not expect to see them vanish too :o.
Thanks in advance; I wouldn't be ordering for a while yet (waiting for spring-not ready to get into this right away, the slugs would be for a gun I haven't even built yet), so maybe NOE will have restocked some by then.

I ordered a 25 caliber pellet mold from them on the 23rd of December and it still says "In Shipping". It said in stock when I ordered it. I've tried calling multiple times and I get sent to voice mail and it says mailbox full, so I can't leave a message.

That's odd I called them once and got straight through to a real live person on my first try.
My guess is they are busy making molds. I wish I would have bought a .22 cal pellet mold when they were in stock. I didn't becues I wasn't sure if it would be a good match for our guns.

I've ordered from them several times in the past and never had a problem before. I know things are busy but it's getting close to a month on an in stock item and it still hasn't shipped.

Thanks Bob; I missed that one :(. Could you tell me; when they have "drill for probe" listed, is that referring to the HP pin, or something else?

That is drill for a thermometer probe. I may add that mold is a great bullet works well in many air rifles !

Back_Roads beat me to it. I've never seen a need for it, but I guess it could come in handy.

Thanks! :D Was originally aiming at 30 grains for my target 60-ish FPE slug gun; but the fact that it is light enough that it may also shoot in my 350 Mag makes it quite appealing...

On that note, I need a barrel for these to ride in; and aftermarket OEM barrels are sometimes a good deal. If you could list a few of the guns that it performed well in for you, I would appreciate it.
Thanks a bunch, will also start searching the forum on the subject but figured I'd go ahead and ask here too. ;)

I can tell you from experience that BSA barrels love the 30 grain BBT slugs. I'm not sure about this mold though.

Any of the Nova Vista guns, Sentry, Artemis, and Hatsan.

Thanks guys! Did some digging through the forum and found several other threads that referenced this mold too; now to do some thorough studying on the art of casting/sizing... :D

Preheat your mold before casting and make sure your hollow-point pins are hot. I learned from some old hands to use a cheap electric hot plate with an old circular saw blade on top. I sit my molds on top of it while my pot heats up. I also pretreat my pins with a a little graphite powder before I start. If you're still having problems with the slugs sticking on the pins try heating them with a propane torch for a few seconds.

Thanks for the tips; have been digging through the forum and have already PDF-ed a bunch of threads.
