Post by: 45flint on January 01, 2021, 11:50:32 PM
At the beginning of the new Blue Book under a dedication to fallen comrades is the name Tim McMurry?  Is there another Tim McMurry?

That's probably his grandfather.  The man that founded Mac-1.

I don't have the answer to why a 'Tim McMurry' would be listed as deceased, but a few thoughts on this:
1) Per the Mac-1 website, Tim's father was Don McMurray, his grandfather Les McMurray started the business in 1932.
2) Previous editions listed 'Tim McMurry' as a contributor in 'Acknowledgements' which suggests they've misspelled Timmymac's name before.
3) This brings to mind the Mark Twain observation that "The report of my death was an exaggeration".

Tim was reared by his Grandfather since he was a young child. That's all the information I care to give out without getting too personal.  8) dave
