Tomorrow is the last day for our late doe season. With 2 unused tags I decided to take the .40 Badger out one last time. Had 6 does come in at about 25 yards and stop. The first one dropped on the spot. They all ran back and one circled back to see what happened. At 60 yards I dropped her too. No tracking at all. My first double with the Badger! My boy shot 2 does last night and I am getting tired of butchering deer. Between the 2 of us, we have taken 8 deer this year. The freezers are full and I can enjoy some squirrel and rabbit hunting for the rest of the winter.

Darrell, excellent shots on both does!

Nice job Darrell! There are worse problems than having 2 deer to butcher ;)

Hey Darrell
Having 2 to cut up is better than having TAG SOUP........... ;)
Great job and you enjoy them all year long till next season................... ;)
I haven't drawn a tag in 2 years........... :(

After getting all my butchering done this morning, I took my metal detector back looking for the slugs. Detecting is one of my other hobbies. I found the one from the first deer in the ground about 10’ behind where she dropped. Couldn’t find the second one. It’s a .402 220 gn hp from Mr. Hollowpoint. Can’t ask for much more from a slug.

Well, that about does it for deer season! Congrats on the double and full freezer.

Excellent shooting Darrel! The pics of the slugs and the deer tell the whole story about the Badger's performance. Enjoy all that meat!
