Mine's from Straight Shooters many years ago and it is still operational!

It's an HW97K-T .20.

I have shelved it for years since other rifles took my time and interest in .20 over the HW97K-T .20.

It has R-9 strength like my favorite rifles in HW, the 98s.

The HW80 is really too much and most owning R-1s and HW80s will admit it when there's HW35E and HW50 and HW95.

It's probably the best underlever to buy along with the others in same price range.  I found the HW98s to be more accurate for my type of shooting limited to offhand.  I never use a rest.

I may "lean" onto a post but I never sit for shooting anymore.  The Break Barrel Air Rifle (like the HW98) is the ultimate standing to shoot continuously device I know about on the face of the earth.

The .20 is one cartridge worth getting your teeth into in any rifle of any velocity.

It is worth HAVING as an air rifle of any design.

Most people like to have a rest shooting the HW97K-T or HW77 to "absorb" recoil and hold weight (in sandbags) for BEST accuracy.  It is NOT in my experience the best offhand rifle.

The best offhand rifles to me are in my signature.

Yet I have an armory of air rifles not in my signature that I keep for justifying my own choices.

You bought a rifle you will never resell.  I won't resell mine.

It shoots either heavies or lites in JSB Exact with a rest better than an Air Arms or any other out there competing with it. ;D ;D ::)

My HW97K .20 is my most accurate Springer and I have quite a few. Something about that .20cal Springer that makes it such a please to shoot!! My good Friend Jim Chapman has taken several Tx Jackrabbits with her and love how you can shoot her rested too. You can't go wrong in getting one. Best of Luck, and Happy New Year.

Great choice! I have the blue laminate .20 HW97k and it is a beast. As others have mentioned, not near as hold sensitive as many other springers. The weight and the fixed barrel definitely play a role in that. I was shooting 1 inch spinners offhand a couple days ago at 35 yards and it is almost no fun as I never missed. Think I did 30-40 in a row. It also hits hard. Plenty of power for small game. I also find the hw97k .20 very easy to load compared to some other under-levers  I own. It’s a dream compared to the loading of my tx200 .177. Mine likes the FTT’s. Again congrats!

The question is actually...what kind of accuracy can you expect from yourself?  If you miss with a 97, it won't be the rifle's fault, as long as you set it up correctly when you receive it!

My Beeman 97k .20cal is as accurate as u are? I have no problem shooting 1 hole groups with it all day long @23yds, and at 80yds I have problems shooting birds or rabbits! 8)

On a bench it's indisputable and in the "offhand" it's an unwieldy beast with all kinds of extra steps to reload and fire that a straight break barrel does not have.

But I still keep mine!

It is lower powered than my HW98 .20 for sure--so if power is what you want it isn't there in the HW97 like it is in the HW95 or HW98.  Now an R9 Beeman is usually lower powered but accurate but even then you can see why confusion floods the fold.

The 97 is NOT as strong as the HW98.

My Beeman HW97K .20 is my least hold sensitive, most accurate guns.
Mine too.
Bone stock, a dream to shoot.
.20 is the perfect pellet.
Flatter than .22, harder hitter than .177

I have many rifles to sell the HW 97k is not one.

Although I am a .22 fan boy, I will tell you that my 97 and LGU are both very easy to get 'easy accuracy' out of. My TX200 gets the same outstanding accuracy,  but I'd have to work a bit harder at it.

If that makes sense.
