Title: "locking" break-barrels
Post by: pneuby on December 25, 2020, 03:05:17 PM
I know of the HW35, Webley Omega, Slavia (630?)and I think an iteration of the FWB 124?
Are there other latching breakers like this out there? Thanks...Vic

I believe the Sig Sauer has some sort of stabilizing system when the barrel is closed.

LGV

Slavia 634.

Chinese B2 I think.

I’ve also been tempted to get a barrel latch springer.

Jeff, I searched some pics of that 335. It's a nice looking rifle, close to a FWB 124. Thanks for mentioning it.

Chinese B2 has a lever on the left side has to be pushed forward to unlatch and cock.

The two best locking barrel rifles I had were the HW55 .177 and the HW35 E series.  I don't have the HW55 from San Rafael anymore but I have 3 HW35Es and think these are way better than the HW55 which is overrated.

Walther LGV, both vintage and modern. Too bad they never caught on here in the US.

Welcome to the forum and I see you are near Vandenberg AFB!  My sister (COL) used to work there!

I keep hearing about the LGV but I never took the dive there.  I know there are mixed reviews.

By the way, I shot my first .22 Hornet at Vandenberg Rifle Range!  That is a snappy .22 that can easily deal with today's .223 craze.

What is that screw in the front of the trigger guard?

It's the sear engagement adjusting screw, comparable in function to the one on the Relum Telly.

I believe the Sig Sauer has some sort of stabilizing system when the barrel is closed.

I have one. I think that technically, it would fall under this category as well.  So Solid lockup function, and GREAT consistency !!
