After a few months looking out for a new Chrono as my Caldwell G2 power adapter broke off the inside and didn't like going back to the old green shooting chrony I have, PA sent an email on 10x bullseye bucks on the FX Chrono this past week. Decided to give it a try. 4 days later and it's in my hands today. Hooked it up on the EVOL barrel and gotta say I'm impressed with it! Works very good and very convenient. Able to do it in the dark in my backyard no lights, no farting around trying to get it lined up just right on target with the Chrono or anything. All just on my phone and told me the speed. Very happy so far with it and will be a very welcome tuning piece.

Even works on cloudy days, or in the dark for that matter. I love mine.
-
If my old green box ever dies, I'll probably pick one up myself.
-
Have one, I especially like the Siri-like voice announcing the speed of every shot.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I bet you still don't have any barrel droop with the EVOL.
I haven't picked one of these up yet, so wanted to ask if you can download the shot string to a PC in some way? Thanks!

Keith, your cellphone will be the screen (and the phone speaker announces the fps) and the shot string that shows on your phone screen can be e-mailed right from there to wherever, in case you want to have a record of it. Pretty versatile little gadget.

Shoot it like everyone else ends up doing.😁😁 It's a little like riding a Motorcycle, you will fall and if you have you will fall again.

Thanks, but I know the screen only shows the last ten shots. Is that all that can be sent, or maybe ten shots at a time? So no file with a full string can be sent?

I have all kinds of chronographs ... this is by far the best chrono I have for my airguns ... I have NONE of the light problems or having to rearrange my setting to match the light or this light is to strong or some other CR#P, no tripods to lug around and the rest of the &^^& that goes along with it .....
I put it on my gun when I want to test speed, or if I'm sniping I get the speed no matter what angle I'm at ... A GREAT little unit, good job FX !!
wll

Just got one the other day. Was a little hesitant with it being as I have other units, but the fact that it would be next to impossible to shoot this one..... was a major selling point.
Have used it a little and it is a great product! GET ONE

Mine just shipped from PA yesterday but I saw a video where you just take a screenshot of the string and then you can save it to a file. Then you can edit that screen shot and add whatever information you want on it. That was with an iphone but I bet androids do that also.

I think the ten shots you are seeing is just what can fit on the phone screen at a time, you can scroll down to see the rest. And if e-mailing it, you'll receive the entire string in the e-mail.
-
I've shot 28 shots and they were all there. Just scroll.
I wish the info you enter in the profile would transfer to the notes when you save a shot string, instead of having to retype everything again.

Thank you for the clarification!

I don't know, that little china me seems do do all I as for checking a sir gun at a fraction of the price. And don't require rubber bands to mount it like above
-
You can shoot a 100 shot string and email the entire shot string to yourself. There is only room on the screen to display a limited number of shots, but if you scroll down the screen, you can see they are all there. My only gripe is battery life, I just wish the batteries lasted longer.

Paul,
What are you finding for hours of use? I just used mine for the first time last saturday and shot a couple hundred rounds, mostly testing pellets. I was pleased to find that I can attach mine to the air tube rather than the barrel preventing POI change. The barrel on my Sentry 705 only extends about 1/2" beyond the tube. I tried it both ways and did not notice any real change in readings so I think I am good to go. Certainly better than dealing with bayonets.

Interesting idea...some guns I have would adapt to this as well.

I just got my FX Chrono yesterday to replace the cheap Chinese one I have. The rubber band thing is kind of janky for something that costs $200. However it quickly and easily swaps to any gun, and LDC I own. The little cheap Chinese one never mounted very well for me, especially when using an LDC. I tried longer bolts and fashioned a couple different brackets with no avail. Also only worked about half the time and had to convert everything to FPS and keep track of the shot strings.
The app, the ease of use, and the reliability of the FX makes it worth the price IMHO.

Now that this chrony has been out for a little while, how's the accuracy? Has anyone recently compared it to a known accurate chrony?

Cool, I guess I don't let it out smart me. 40 shot string at a push of a button ? Converting? I guess if math ain't your strong suit I could see that but there's calculators out there and cheap on top of pencil and paper.
Thing hols on to a hammering bucking bronco gamo magnum I st fine. (Pictured above). I'm not lannister my to keep it mounted for the life of a gun and every shot it takes in that life. Just time to time check a seal issue if I suspect one or something pops up man be days maybe months or years between use.
Does what I need of it and the money saved I can put to bigger and better things .
I'm not trying to knock the one, but cost for use and result just don't see it for personal home use on a few guns

Hard to say really. I don't usually use it for long period of time at one sitting. But, it does seem like when I do pull it out to use it, the red light comes on indicating the batteries are low. AAA's don't hold much, I actually think 2 AA's would have given better battery life than the 3 AAA's.
-
Is there a USB port where a external battery pack could be used?
-
No and there's a tiny screw that holds the battery cover in place, so it's not an easy task to remove the batteries when it's not being used.
-
I use just one rubber band on mine, holds well enough and even easier to transfer from one gun to another.

Yep, me too, real easy to slip it on and off a moderator. If I attached it to a slimmer barrel or shroud, I just loop it around the end of the barrel one extra time.
