Title: Reconditioning Sheridan Blue Streaks (late 80's) bolt lug thread size?
Post by: nzimmers on December 12, 2020, 08:08:01 PM
Hello Folks I'm slowly reconditioning two Sheridan Blue Streaks - one of them I bought second hand and the bolt lug was something that was clobbered in there - I'd like to see if I can clean up the threads with a tap but I can't tell what the thread is even looking at the new bolt lug that I bought as a replacement.  seems close to 4-40 but that's too small - maybe 1/8-40 NS?

does anyone know for sure?

If you got the hex head lug bolt from Mac 1 for a pre 89 gun the extra one I have screws in and tightens up on a 5-44 screw checker.  I don't know about newer ones though. Hope this helps.  I had to get a tap online to clean up the threads as its not a common one at the hardware store.  This was on a 71 model streak.

Hi Van that totally helps, I have a hex head lug bolt from Mac 1 so I'll search around for the 5-44 tap!

Many thanks,
