Title: My rat gun setup - HW100 paired with PARD 008 LRF
Post by: max115 on December 06, 2020, 12:47:18 PM
I finally bite the bullet and purchased a PARD 008 LRF.  We had recently acquired a rat permission and having struggle to "see" them in the dark and effectively shooting them, I decided to get one.  My buddy was using an ATN and he was having fun and success while I tried to use green and red lights method.  The red flood lights were good and I was able to tag a few but with this PARD 008 LRF setup, it was incredible!  I used it the other night (visit #5) and ended tagging 24 and collected 21 big rats in 4 hours.

I paired it with my first PCP – HW100 .22 and it was wonderful.  MY HW100 has the shortest barrel that I purchased from the UK and since I got my Crown and Impact, it has been neglected and locked inside the cabinet for a long time.  Finally it gets to come out and play.  Play it did and it performed wonderfully smacking them rats repeatedly.  My HW100 is shooting the AA1gr at 870fps; 27 ft.lb.  This is over kill and I will probably tune it down to 20 ft.lb to conserve air for better shot count.

I am very pleased with this set up and I am very impressed with how small, light and compact this PARD is.  It is expensive especially with the LRF model, but in my opinion, if it records good footages and simple to operate, then it is worth the money.  Buy once, cry once.

I will need to use it more to find out the Pros and Cons, but for the time being the only negative was that it didn't come with a charger and I was having problem finding the right battery to buy as a spare.  So if any of you know which 18650 battery is best for the PARD, please let me know.

I hope you guys will like the rats video that I will be posting next.  Hopefully now I will have more video contents showing a mix bag of furry and feather pests to share with your guys.

Thanks for the support.
