I have a laminate cheek piece that i don’t think has any finish on it. The bottom rest is walnut.
My question is can I use the same oil finish on the laminate as the walnut?
With laminate I would assume poly would be the way to go but I don’t want to poly the walnut and I would like the textures to match even if they are two different woods.

I use Danish oil on my walnut stocks. 3-4 coats gives a nice satin finish. I would use it on the laminate as well. Of course, there's a ton of options, this just suits my taste.

I sanded the pieces smooth and oiled both the walnut and laminate. They turned out nice.
