Title: Problems with Kral filling probe
Post by: oldnamvet on November 03, 2020, 10:29:17 PM
When I got my new Kral it was fully charged so I was able to sight in and shoot enough to tell that I liked the rifle. Now to pump it back up.  An excellent chance to use my Benjamin
Traveler compressor that I got today. I hooked everything up and started the compressor.  Lots of pumping noise but the pressure on the pump never budged. Shut down and inspected the probe.  It looked like there might be a small nick in one of the o-rings (yellow) so I took out the spare set provided and put them on. The pump started immediately showing pressure climbing so I thought I had it fixed.  When the pressure got to 2000 it stopped and started dropping down to 1000 and stayed there. Then began to wonder if the pump had problems.  Hooked it up to my marauder and it pumped to 3000 psi in a few minutes so that was not a problem. Seems like it is the probe that Kral uses.  Do I need bigger/thicker or different o-rings or is there something else to check?

Found the problem and have contacted PA.  Something sharp inside the port is shaving a razor thin piece from the o-ring.  Putting a bright light into the port showed tiny pieces of yellow o-ring. An imperfect seal would prevent getting the pressure up to 200 bar. >:(

All my kral probes have very sharp edges and I oftentimes would find pieces of oring if I didn't use a bit of silicone on the orings.

I finally got tired of it and just ordered the huma probe, and haven't had any issues.
