Title: Daisy Winchester 1000 XS .177 Gas Rammed
Post by: gene_sc on September 11, 2011, 09:50:11 PM
Well this is not a magnum but a very sweet shooting Turkish made bb gun with a very sweet trigger. The Winchester 1000XS is actually the second version that Daisy imported from Hatsan with the Winchester Name. In the Hatsan world they are the Mod 70. Yes they can be a bit crude to shoot without some TLC but for the DIY guys this is a sweety to play wiff.. Solid construction and good metal work.

Since I finished the one up I had not had a chance to sit down and shoot her at targets or even find the pellet she likes or any real world chrony numbers.

So here ya go. The target was it out just past my big tree stump and I shot from my deck with table and rest. Target bulls are about quarter size bulls. These are the ones I usually use..

Good deal Gene, thanks for the update and numbers. Very respectable. Spread looks GREAT. I haven't had a chance to let my new Turkey strutt it's stuff and test with different ammo but hope to within the week. First will need to pick up a better scope for my old eyes. :)
Fun guns to work on and shoot!!!!
Happy Shooting!!!!

Looks like Kodiak Match is the winner by a narrow margin.

By the velocity numbers, I bet they have a more consistent weight, which leads to the more consistent velocity and more consistent groups.

It's also worth noting that the Crosman pellets were CPL and not CPHP from Walmart.

Crosman Pellet was the CPL version which come in cardboard box. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I have never had any guns that would shoot the CP's from wall mart shoot worth a hoot.

Any chance of building up a gas piston conversion on a Winchester Winchester 1029?  I like the stock and fluted barrel on this model better than the 1000XS.  It seems like the gains on a converted 1029 would be greater than those of the converted 1000XS.

Jon I would have to see one up close and apart for meaurements and calculations . Don't have one but would take yours in to see if you want to send it.
