Hi all.
Please help me with finally selection.
Which one is better.
-
You can't go wrong with either one.. Toss a coin.. Or use the same philosophy I used. The Germans lost the war. The Brits got my money :-)
-
I own a Pro Sport and have shot a few 97s. I think that my PS has a little more power than the 97s that I have shot. But as stated above, flip a coin. You're a winner either way.

HW97. The PS cocking could pose problems.

The cocking of my PS has posed no problems. Nor do I even see the potential for such.

Got your PM. You have a tough decision. I like Fix barrel. Both can make you happy.
Also maybe consider shipping cost to factory if you have to get parts/repairs.
-
That is tough. Both are top self shooters. What ever way you go you will have a fine rifle.
I would try to think would you rather reach under the gun or up front of the gun to cock it?
You could just go on looks alone. ;D
Good luck!

I couldnt vote. i own a 97k, but have not shot the AA yet. i love my 97k, and i'm sure the AA would be sweet too. the 97k comes in .20 which was the selling point for me...bart

The HW-97 and AA- TX200 are to close in accuracy to really say. It comes down to which gun you feel more comfortable in shooting. No one can tell you that until you experience shooting both.
I have shot all three. The TX 200, ProSport and the HW-97. I sold the TX, kept the ProSport and love shooting the HW-97....:) Good Luck.
It is an individual preference my friend.

I have both! and will say the PS is lighter and better balanced for off hand shooting, but I really like both guns! the PS is easier to disassemble and tune! and I like the CD trigger a little better than the rekord, the HW gun's are built like tanks and I personally like the build of the HW guns a little better than the TX's or PS, now my 77k is a little lighter in the front than the 97k is IMO, but I guess its what you intend to use the rifle for? all of them are super accurate all of them will make a good hunter or target gun, so its a tuff call, I like the PS and the 97k so much I have 2 of each of them in .177cal and .22cal and have a 77k in .177cal their all very nice guns, and if I had to pic just one I couldn't do it! the 97k and the 77k are the same basic gun action wise, I think like has been already said you can't go wrong anyway you go on this, but each of these guns have advantage's and disadvantage's to them! just my 2ct :P

Michael, it seems like you have decided to save up and get the best instead of trying to get something that is also affordable.
One question though. I think these guns are more powerful than 16 J. Does it mean you also decided to get a license, or are you getting a castrated version? If you are getting a castrated version, be careful. I've read that these guns are modified by the importers, and not by the manufacturers, and that it can really cause problems.

Not sure about the HW97........bu the pro sport is manufactured in both a sub 12fpe and a FAC (15-16fpe) configuration. The higher power models are typically exported to the US, although a 12fpe version can be special ordered by US customers.
I have a US model pro sport. Excellent gun, but borderline too powerful. A milder shooting 12fpe version would be a great package IMHO.

Do they make a 16 J version? Because 16 J = 11.8 ft-lbs.
But if they make a 16 J version from the factory, or of the 12 ft-lb. version is really 16 J, then he's good to go!
I'm secretly hoping he is getting his firearm license and getting the 16 ft-lb. version, then he will be pretty happy in the long run.

Michael: You have a great problem to solve; which of the two best spring guns ever made should I buy!?
If you are restricted to 12fpe, both guns are made in that power level. In the UK, the AA Pro Sport is primarily built as a 12fpe gun with a certain quantity built for UK FAC shooters and export to the States. I believe that Weihrauch does the same.
The Pro Sport is a beautiful gun and so is the HW97K. It really does come down to the style of the underlever you prefer and the styling and appearance you prefer.
