Anybody else shoot a R7 ?? Don't hear much talk about the Beeman rifles.
It's such a joy to shoot. Easy to cock, shoulders well, light weight, accurate and has enough power to take out small critters. I was fortunate to pick one up about a year ago....glad I did.

Although I do not own an R-7, my HW-30 you would pass as one in the accuracy dept. Same guns but just different names on them. For in close and tight shots these small springers are world of fun. I love to shoot mine and it make me look like a sharpshooter on a good day...:)

im thinking about getting a beeman for my next big purchase. something with low hold sensitivity and im not a hunter so dont need high power. basicly easy to shoot and dosnt cost a fortune. any suggestions?

We love our R7. I bought it for mommy, but I get a turn now and then. I think there is little discussion of them because they are such perfect little rifles, that there is nothing to be done on them. Ours is un-tuned, but acts like it was.
Beeman rifles are generally nothing more than re-labeled Weihrauchs, and now even that appears dubious under the new Chinese ownership. The Beeman brand often had nicer wood and other furniture, because they specified those options from HW. I think the R7 was one of those, dunno if the same checkering is available in the HW30s. The R7 equalled the "s" version of HW30, because of the trigger, although I guess there is a new HW30e with a newer trigger.

it would be awhile cause i just sunk alot into getting a tx.

The R7 is a great gun....super fun to shoot. Don't see many used because everybody keeps them. There was an HW30 similar to Genes on the yellow yesterday...........I circled it for awhile, just to many gun projects in the works.
AOA has the HW30 foe 299.00.......good price for new if you compare to others pricing.
JM sells a delrin insert to cure the galling caused by the cocking lever. I guess some gall and some don't....mine did..........stuck the insert in and she cocks as smooth as butter.
Definitely very high on my favorites list.......neat gun. ;)

I had one for a short time, between the tiny size and the fact that my head was still mostly in the Dark Side, it went to a new home after just a couple of weeks. Nothing wrong with the gun, just not my cup of tea. Don't think I'd feel any different, now that I've returned from my sojourn on the Dark Side, I still prefer larger rifles, especially in springers. Just made a deal to trade my last PCP off on a Diana 54 :-). Will post more on that when it gets here.
The HW 30 is the same as the R7. If you want something that falls between the R7 and R9 for power, check out the HW50. No personal experience, but I've heard nothing but good about them, and they're sized more like an R9, which is better for most adult shooters. I have an R9 that has become one of my all time favorite rifles, lots of people have complained about the R9 being hold sensitive, but I haven't had an issue with mine. Later.

Agrees with daved, the R9 has become my favorite of 8 rifles. I like it better than even my TX 200 MkIII. If I had to give up all my rifles, I'd find someway to hold onto the R9.

i have a b26 and i would like the real thing one day so you never know. it happened with my b40 and ill keep my fingers crossed and eyes open

decent looking beemans are going are going for up to 400.00 so i need to start saving my pennies now.

I've been shooting airguns for 35+ years and have owned quite a few brands but the one that I think is leaps ahead of the rest are the Weihrauchs which of course were refined to what they are today by Robert Beeman, my favorites of all time are the HW 55s which are a target version of the old HW 50S but much more refined unfortunately these models are no longer made probably due to the high cost of their stocks etc, so in my opinion the Beeman R7 / HW 30S is now the closest to the old classic 55s and behave very similar on firing, noise, vibration etc ( they're really like a mini R1 ) I love them so much I used it as a platform for a custom job I built and featured in Airgun Hobby Magazine

I have to agre with you Andrew on the HW air guns. I own the HW-30, and HW-97. Did not care for the HW-50s and sold it. I just traded a AA PCP for an R-11 and also own a R-9 dg, which are all fantastic builds and shooters. These are just a few of my favorite springers to shoot.

What did you not like about the HW50s Gene?

What did you not like about the HW50s Gene?
It just never felt comfortable to me. It is a personal thing and nothing to do with quality or accuracy. Big Bil bought her from me and he loves her...:)

I would pick up an R7 if I ran into a good used one for a decent price. but I wouldn't pay full price for one when I have R9's in .177 and .20. They R9's are fun to shoot and are very accurate.
-
I own a R10 .177 (older R9) and you can't compare the R10/R9 to the R7....... It's a different animal.
-
I have an HW30S and it is the gun I shoot the most. It is also a perfect indoor shooter- very quiet and accurate. It shoots almost like a PCP.

patton... the R9 is nothing like a R10. the 10 has the R1 guts in a more compact package. the 10 has the solid rear piece that is pressed in like the R1. In fact, Dr Beeman dubbed it "the son of R1". The R9 is more comparable to a FWB 124/7. it is a scaled down R1, as the R7 is a R1 to the lesser degree. The hw50 is was also called the R8... comparable in size was the hw50s also known as a R6 (somehow the 6 had more power than the 8...). The R9 happens to have a skinnier metal chamber and that is why we feel the vibration more in the 9 than a 1. But a tuned R9 is a joy to shoot. I gave up 2 of them in .20 ( tried to get used to them twice) but at the end ended up liking the firing cycle better in the R1. Now the R7, or the hw30... i think everyone should own one. They had being described as the "last gun i would sell if i had to give all my guns but one"... it is bar none the easiest and mor ecomfortable gun to shoot. It will never cease to amaze you. It can hang with a peep sight at 10 meters versus much more target oriented rifles... it can decimate paintballs and cans and what nots as a all day plinker, or mount a little 2-7x32 on it and hunt, yes, i said it, hunt anything upto a squirrel or rabbit out to 25 yards with amazing headshots... i was more partial to the .20 caliber (595 fps with lasers, ragged hole at 20 yards) than the .177. i miss that little rifle.
-
... and as luck would have it, i got rid of my tx200 and picked up a R7 .177... this one is hot! 680 fps with jsb rs 7.33...

hahahahah.....congrats lillysdad!!!!
Maccari is selling HW's right now. I have an R7, but thinking real hard about picking up a 30..........I just really like those guns!
Congrats again on the 7.....enjoy!
-
Yep Congrats....and welcome to the club. ;D

If anyone is interested, Paul Watts has an older model long stock R-7 for sale. Go to his site under "customer forum" to check it out. More expensive than a brand new one but it has been tuned. FWIW.

What a beauty...... It screams quality.
