Saw this on the bay and it looked so good, came today and it was almost as new. Love the elm on this cause the grain could pass for walnut. I also liked as a collector it was a early model with through safety. One cartridge, cap with rod. The date code is 60, June of 1960. Has to be one of the first of the new stocks? I know that Sears got these new stocks first. So this shows that the new stock came before the new trigger system. DT Fletcher says in his book that a chronology of the Sears models is not really known? Curious if anyone has one like this that is earlier? Awesome put a CO2 cartridge in and it held gas. 2 power settings, full power sounded like a 22. Stopped a backyard chrony session quickly!

Wow! Really like the stock, your right about looking clean.

Nice looking stock.
I love my 180 but will say it would be nice to have a bit more forearm real estate.
-
I sold a Sears gun just like that one a while back. Those stocks are sweet, not only longer but with the wide, flat beavertail forearm and a butt plate. I don't think Crosman used that stock on any of their regular run pieces. Very nice condition on yours. Mine had a crack in the plastic spacer too.

That is in remarkable good shape.

On mine the crack in the white spacer seems to be in the exact same spot. Date stamp is 100 Oct 60

Interesting, 1960 as well. They were using the old 180 short stock spacers and just adding a piece to fill it. Crosman never threw out anything! Lol. Use it till it runs out. Does show these are the very early ones cause they are still using old parts?
The other way to dates these would be to find out the latest date stamp on the short stock Sears 180?
