Title: New .25 in Da house.
Post by: Nomadic Pirate on September 07, 2020, 07:36:00 PM
Well new to me at least,

I wasn't planning to get this gun nor it was in my budget, but when Chacho called me and said he had it in his hands and if I was interested I couldn't resist and folded  ;D ;D

From Texas it went straight to North Caroline to Will Piatt's shop and today I got her in my hands.

Now lets see what I can do to change the looks a bit

Well, the major costom job I was planning didn't pan out.

I'm still doing some minor mods but it will not be as radical as I was hoping for.

If I had to buy an Avenger it would be in .177 for a low power plinker,

I have zero use for an Avenger in .25, none.

Your trolling is getting tiring, I could keep responding but I can't be bothered to engage with you.

..............Seems like you have a big man crush and just not able to stay away from my threads even if they should be of no interest to you.

No ... I am just kidding around with you   ;), like the rest   ;D , no harm meant..+ no man crush  ::). I just thought as much as you have been posting about how much you liked the Avenger that you finally bought 1 when I saw this thread with " new .25 in da house " ...  but you did not ... you  bought  another Evanix in stead .

To be honest.... first thing I thought when I saw the title was..... Manny bought an Avenger.

I'm the opposite, I pretty much knew brother Manny bought another Evanix.  He loves the triggers and he loves how Will can get them to do exactly what he needs for the precise hunting he does.  I wouldn't be totally surprised if he picked up an Avenger at some point, I just don't think it's likely.   ;D

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D My man you know me to well,.....I dwell into the possibilities of buying different guns but after I think about it and weight all the factors I end up never doing it  ;D ;D ;D

My Airgunning is vastly different from the majority out there, if it wasn't I probably would have a total different Airsenal but as it is this is exactly what works for me.

I think they hit it out da park with the Avenger and I like to read of all the happy owners and how well the gun is doing,.....but, there is nothing that gun can do for me, maybe in an other life :) :) :)

good purchase, Manny.  Nice interswappability if it is anything like the rest o the Evanix PCPs.

What were you hoping to do?  I'm sure a single-point sling is in the works.

FWIW, my girlfriend saw a video of the Rex pistol and she's interested.  Still loves her Lelya but I think she's interested in a big-bore

I was trying to wrap Shroud, air tube, side panels and foregrip with a silver carbon fiber looking wrap but it just didn't look good with the action and rail,.....probably will try do one of my Rainstorms with it.

so I'm left with cutting the connection from the grip to the stock off, I prefer the feel of a pistol grip without that extra piece,......painted the stock last night so it should be ready today.

Just finished to put together my REX trifecta,.....will make a thread with lots of pictures shortly :)

Ho,.....and yes, pretty much all parts or the wast majiority at least are interchangeable with the Rainsrorms :) :)

Stock is cut and painted,

I'll get it on today and start shooting, I will eventually need to repaint it because there was little left in the can so I did a hurry up job to get at least one coat on and it didn't come out as even as it should.

My new favorite stock/grips coating,.......not at tough as bedtruck liner but feels better and it's a thinner coat.

Since i only got one coat on I sprayed some auto coating on to give it a bit of strength for now until I'll re do it.

Interresting....be interresting to get your take on an up-powered semi-auto.

Considering your list...we kind of expected an Evanix)

Rib,

this one is a simple side lever not a semi.

It's a compact beauty Manny. And just an FYI, I too have an Evanix coming in...will say what it is when I finally get her in...

Been shooting the Pup a bit today, she feels great and hits like a Hammer.

Just like my latest .30 that came back from Will the trigger is almost to light, I don't know if the change comes from Evanix or Will find a better way to tune them.

Also like my .30 the sidelever is super light for this kind of power, one more thing I noticed from Will's latest tunes.

When buying a gun from someone you don't know it's always a gamble since you don't know how they treat guns, been trying to clean the barrel for an hour and still can't get it clean

She's lookin real nice, Manny!  8)

Man...now that's making me wonder. Will has two of my rifles, they arrived within 10 days of eachother; does that mean I can be expecting a call soon?  ;D My fill probe should be delivered today for my third rifle, so hopefully that will keep me distracted while I wait for one (or both) of the Piatt-tuned rifles to come in.

Can't wait to see the first harvest of the ML!  8) 8)

So, since I didn't do the major customizing I was planning the gun is done with minor changes.

Stock cut and painted,
I added rails to the foregrip one long undernith and 2 short ones on the side, I also took off the cheek riser on top of the action,
with it on I would have to use higher rings and that's unaccetable since i want the scope as low as possible.

That looks so much better with the piece connecting the grip to the butt stock removed.

And sooooo much more comfortable to shoot when you can get your wrist straight back behind the grip, even more when you carry the gun.

It just looks like it would be in the way.

Haw, I wish. It's just the little brother to the AR6, the AR6K (carbine). Renegade they call it. Still makes close to 30 fpe stock in .22, plus I dig the thumb-on-hammer cocking for no-interruption follow up shots. We'll see, she just came in today.

I did not realize the maker was Duk Il Arms of Korea until I saw it printed on the receiver. Really steel-billet-solid quality, and the machining is pure precision...yet the double action trigger pull is actually very smooth and relatively light for the kind of hammer power it has to pull back while also rotating the cylinder to line up the next pellet.

The gun weighs 5-1/2 lbs unscoped, and is just under three feet long (without moderator). But it is very loud without one.

Gonna try shoot it tomorrow. If I can get the chrono app to work with my phone finally.

Cool, I really like the AR6 platform,

I want that .30 that AirGun Pro shop has but they are asking crazy coin for it.
