Title: JSB Heavy RWS fit
Post by: s10gto on September 08, 2011, 01:13:47 PM
Anyone using these pellets in a RWS 48/52 .177? Wondering what size do you use. PA stocks the 4.52. Too tight or OK? should I look for smaller? H&N 4.5 FTT's and baracudas fit nice. Just wanted to another

Thanks

tried the PA 4.52 and they are way too loose in both my 34s.....they scatter like a shotgun

They did not shoot in either 8 land T06 or the 12 land from *(&^

Heck I tried 4.53 JSB Exacts they scattered as well.....and none of the 22 cal JSB in large head sizes and wieghts shot in my Titan as well....for some reason my springers do not like them   they shoot great in my S200s, FX, and 25 Cal Marauder

Try the CP heavies the fit varies the tight ones shoot well or get the HN match Barracudas

in my 52 i use the JSB's exact diablo's. and yes they are a little loose, but the skirts are so thin i think the skirts flair good. now i know heavier pellets would be better acording to what has been said here on the GTA, but hey they are working great! so thats the JSB's i use in my 52...cheers Bart

Thanks  The match baracudas work well.FTT shoot a little tighter. Thought I would try to see if I can find a heavy that shoots like the FTTs.

I used the JSB heavies in my 48 and now use them in my 52.  Not a problem with that size here.
Title: Re: JSB Heavy fit there was something I saw about JSB heavies and a change
Post by: TOM aka critter99 on September 08, 2011, 04:53:35 PM
to them in recent time and the new ones sucked bad and would not shoot....I would ask for present production 2010 or newer

I am pretty sure the design change was 2009 production since everybody is trying to off load them at a discount and their 2010 production is sold out

My last order was 3/2011.  JSB heavies.

That's interesting. On the PA site pic (don't know how accurate it is) the heavies look more cylinder shaped.

Kymike are yours this way?

Pretty much, Yes.  The line shown at the skirt flare is not as pronounced as the ones in the picture, but understand that's just a marketing picture so I wouldn't put much into it.  ;)   They are not more cylindrical looking than the CPs...just a tad larger/longer in the head/waist area. Between the CP heavies and the JSB Heavies, I can't see much of a difference.   Now, I am not going to sit down and mic them, step by step,  but I'll bet someone could if they had the time too...just to make argument.  That's a little toooo Geeky to me.  The design for the Diablo is pretty much down pat.  I shoot 'em, I like 'em ;)

Thanks Kymike   ;D Im not a measure or weigh freak myself. My H&N barrcuda match look like the FTT's but group  little larger. Maybe a little different shape heavy will group even better. My 52 shoots pretty hot with the ftt's. Like to slow down a bit. Going to give them a try. If not FTT's it is.  ;D

Thanks again everyone  ;D  Dustin

Yeah, that's why I went with the heavies myself.  It also carries over to hunting power. Good Luck Bud.

Just a reminder, it is the skirt not the head they are measuring. I find all the JSB pellets to be somewhat loose and the skirt far to soft. I consider them to be a backup pellet if I run out of RWS or Crosman pellets which have a larger head and fit much better giving me a better grouping. My B30 .22 (RWS 48 clone) does not shoot the JSB well but the CP ultra mags do just fine.

I use the JSB 18 gr. pellets in my 22 cal 48. Very consistant tight groups at 30 yards. When (I) am on, the groups can be covered with a dime.

AFAIK, the 10.3 gr. JSB Heavies are only available in one size.... 4.52mm....

I use the 10.2 gr in my 350 and 470. They are a little loose but shoot very well. I have 8 land barrels.

Thanks Guys! Got my order of Heavies in. So far I like them. They fit the barrel perfect and shoot at 18 FPE. Hope to post some 50 yard groups soon.

Thanks again for helping me spend the wifes money LOL  ;D

the barrels sure do vary in what they like.  Niether of mine like the tin of JSB heavies I tried.  They shoot fine out of my C200S.  maybe its time to try another tin of them....but I think my barrels don't like JSB  as they both do not like the JSB 8.4 either.

I'd like to get some 8.4 for my CFX Tom. If your'e not happy, PM me.
I have some extra Crow Mags. They're old stock...sealed tins.

Do you want me to send you a sample of the JSB 8.4gr?  They shoot great in my CZ rifle.  I could drop some in the mail to you....you could try em out without getting a whole tin then.

Thanks Tom but I use them.  I'm out of them and thought if you wanted to get rid of them, I need some.

I have the best luck with the JSB Match Diabolo Exact in my NP XL 1500.  Almost one hole at 10 meters.

EJB the Heavies are great in my M52.  Try the 8.4 Exacts in your CFX.  Tight Drivers.
