Title: Suggestions for Crosman (duped from thread below)
Post by: Mebits on September 07, 2011, 09:06:08 AM

A couple thoughts come to mind as I was looking at all the customized 13XX guns. I think Crosman really ought to add a few offerings...for their own and our benefit.

First, Crosman needs to make an adjustable carbine stock. EVERYONE wants a higher cheek weld, sooner or later and many need a bit more length (or less). How tough would that be? Or at least a cheep cheek piece that will clip or screw on. I mean, have a designer plan it and job it out to china. I suspect that the first 100,000 would sell FAST. I mean, if you've got a 22XX, or a 13XX or a PRod, you could use or desperately want/need this kind of thing.

Second, while Crosman is talking to the molders, they might want to have them do some neat fore-grips and even grips to improve the 1377.

Third, Crosman really, REALLY needs to expand the Custom Shop offerings to the 13XX line. It would be very nice to be able to order a 1377 as a 1322 with a 14" barrel, brass receiver, and camo fore-grip and stock.  I have to think that everyone who has a CS 22XX is a reasonably likely 13XX buyer. And while that's cool on it's own, what about being able to start there before you do some of the other valve mods?

Am I nuts? Any other simple, hugely needed, obviously profitable things Crosman ought to be offering/doing?

All good ideas but I see the price of the 1377 and 2240's going up...:) Ching, Ching. I think more aftermarket companies should offer these add on's.

The gossip is Crosman is reintroducing the 1322 this Fall.  Their have also been pic's posted of a new Crosman pumper with an adjustable stock.   Time will tell....

Agree about those Camo Stocks, you can get them on the custom-shop "carbine" selection pages but not on the 2240 pages and, the 1377 deserves it's own custom page too.

PS the 1377 Steel Breech was back in stock on Friday, 9-2-11, I have one on the UPS truck due this Saturday. Who knows how long they will last in stock?

I have to say that on the consumer end, I'm loving the Custom Shop guns. Very affordable, very nice. Fun. Service is great.

Now, I don't know what it's like on Crosman's end. Maybe it's not that profitable, but if so, why not make it more profitable. If it's a matter of scaling up service, well, then my question is, in a slow economy with lots and lots of warm bodies begging for work why not do it now?

The stock thing is the one that kinds drives me nuts. I mean, c'mon! How hard would it be to provide either a carbine stock that is adjustable for your customers or the parts to allow them to make it fit? It doesn't cost that much, does it? What's production for these guns? Is it a matter of not enough scale? Nobody to design what's needed? Nobody with enough time to figure out the right direction to go in and then plan it? If the latter, alas, I'm very sympathetic. But I must state, there's a lot of talented folks who could be brought in on a contract basis to handle this project.

To All: is there any improvement or changes made to the Custom Shop Triggers by Crosman? (other than the trigger shoe option)?

Mebit....very good point. Imagine getting a few people knowledgeable with mods for that working for Crosman and getting the parts would definitely get alot of lookers and buyers. Personally I don't think a few extra dollars thrown in on the 1377 or ? in regards for added upgrades would hurt them. Actually it might put them ahead of the crowd. It would also put jobs for the vendors to supply the mods. Why not? Shoot. That's better than what our "prez" has to offer!
