Title: rws 34 meisterschutze...
Post by: Jringe1109 on September 05, 2011, 06:48:12 PM
does anyone have one? is it front heavy? does it come in a t06 version? and is it practical for field target? i've narrowed it down to this gun or a beeman r9... i have a reg 34 in .22 t06 and love it so im thinking the meistershutze in .177 would be a good option...
thanx

Ok I have had one it was problem child in T05 with 12 land barrel.  Umarex dropped the full length one now.  AVOID the sale ones from AOA if you get sent a 12 land one ur STUCK with it.

The T06 Panther Pro Compact with 8 land barrel is available at

If you like wood I would trade you a T06 Classic stock...

A R9 way out classes it ......

I recently bought a refurbished MPC 177 t05 8 land. It shoots 920 with CPHP and I am doing dime groups at 66ft. See my pictures on 'Newbie group' on Dianawerks. It is somewhat front heavy....but easy to cock while sitting secondary to length and the cocking effort is not excessive. I am enjoying the heck out of it...it is a tremendous >>>>Den

Again with this 12 land nonsense.

YOU RIFLE HAD A BAD SCOPE MOUNT.

I had a 12 land Pro that shot great out to 40 yards.

I have a 12 land 34 .22 and it is extremely accurate aiming at a pellet hole at a measured 21 yards, but I always say 20 yards, This is what it is capable of.(http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i460/thekid1974/forum5.jpg)
Rws are top notch to me no matter what platform or barrel.

well Umarex swapped it out and sent another 12 land so that makes two in a row that are junk.....this one eats scopes

Now my T06 Classic shoots great with almost any pellet

This barrel will only shoot one lot number of H&N FTT and I have tried 4 different lot numbers....needs magic pellets to work at all

don't mislead the forum readers about the quality of the 12 land barrels they are hit or miss and a much higher miss chance thean the 8 land ones....if you get a miss nobody from retail or the importer will make it right....regardless of what the Diana CEO's policy letter stated

These are more expensive but have you tried Predator polymags or JSB diabolo stratons, my 12 land absolutely loves them.

The picture above with the mashed pellets are preds, that I pulled out of my duct seal trap. Also found the boxed cp .22's were favored by this barrel as well, not so much with the Crosman ultra mags almost same pellet.

Seems like the .177 12 lands are abit more picky that the 22s

I have a huge piles of tins that do not shoot already.....thank goodness I have a 8 land in .177 and a CZ200 S that shoot almost anything well

I can vouch for the crummy 177 12 land barrel.   I have the 34 pro with a 12 land.   After 2000+ pellets through the thing I still cannot achieve accuracy equal to my Optimus or Stoeger x20.   I that the 12 land supporters need to be carefull about misleading people.  I am considering buying an LW barrel and seeing if a buddy and I can manage the install in his machine shop :-\

I have been jumped all over for warning people not to get them.  2 duds ina row is enough for me to not wanna risk it.  I would not buy a 12 lander if the they were $9.99 because there is not $10 of scrap metal there LOL

and the bad part is replacement barrels are ridicules in price! and theirs very few people who will even swap out the barrels in the blocks and they want as much to do it as you can buy a new gun for! you might see if Mike Melick has a barrel that might fit it off a B25  or maybe an Air Hawk barrel I know its a sin to put a Chinese barrel on a German gun but you one on their anyway just my thoughts and its a cheap way to fix your problem if it will work! :P

UMAREX has single handedly found a WAY TO LOSE CUSTOMERs FROM THE BRAND. treat them like dirt and give them a run around and tell them it is fine when its not.  My next rifle was going to be a D54 but after they poorly supported me on the D34 issues I solved all that.

I bought from another company......My 12 land experience convinced me I needed a HW97K in stainless finish.

And on top of all that you have to pay your own shipping on a for a Chinese barrel.  Kinda like the Trails all over again.  At least Crosman doesn't stick you for shipping and they have no problem changing out guns.  Life time warranty means nothing with Umarex.

I am supprised that Umarex stays in business.

Good product just baddd representation of the product.  No one held  accountable for their business practices.

Apparantly RWS has stopped using the outsourced barrel.   However, it looks as though you are only safe by buying a TO6 version.   The stated reason for stopping usage of the China barrel is due to complaints.  Not any actual quality problems.   Now how many here do you suppose take a new RWS that is found to shoot as well as expected but decide to make noise about it just becuase of the China makings?   Not many I know, the defenders of the 12 land China barrel would seem to have an agenda to me.   Not what I was thinking when I clicked on the order for an RWS.   Also, the representation behind the product is also not what I was thinking when I clicked the order button.  RWS has successfully change my thinking!!   Might as well by an Air Hawk.

look at it this way Umarex is an importer they do not produce any product they are just like oil futures speculators.  Their goal is to maximize profit for capital invested.  Longterm growth of market share does not matter only profit this quarter.  Where Crosman per say wants repeat, happy customers to stay in business they make their product.  If Crosman loses customers they go out of business....Now Umarex if say Diana folds do to shrinking market it just moves on to next product to import, pump for profit, then discard without a hiccup...so Umarex does not have the same motives to make happy customers.

I didn't think of that Tom, thanks for the enlightenment.   How true it is unfortunately.

I sent a email off to RWS in Germany but haven't heard anything yet.   Maybe they can't get a translator.
