Hi, all!! Good Morning!! I have been looking at the crossman .22 2240 air oistol and believe it will be a very good gun. What are your opinions on it? Please let them fly. I am new to air gunning and value your opinions very much. Thanks in advance. Craig

I love mine! Easy to work on, and very accurate out of the box. Go for it.

Greetings Greg.
The 2240 is very popular for modifications.  You can also to the Crossman Custom Shop and order a 2240, with stocks, barrels, etc.  the way you want it.  They also post the $$$$ while you are "building your own".  You may wanna take a look at their website, and look for the "Custom Shop".  You may be surprised how economically you can order one.  Of course, there are websites that offer parts for your own modification.
Again, greetings and Welcome to the GTA!

the internals are so easy to take apart and get back together. So few pieces, and easy to modify. only thing is co2 is expensive along with pellets if you have little funds

I bought a 2240 a few months ago. I was kind of disappointed in it. It was too loud to shoot in the back yard and the power drops off as the CO2 is depleted. I ended up trading it to a friend for a 1975 vintage Benjamin 137 pump pistol. I thought I got the best of the deal and my friend thought he got the best of the deal. I guess that's the definition of a good trade. Good luck with your purchase. Plan on buying a TKO break for it if you have close neighbors. Picture of the 137 attached:

Here's a pic of mine using a Cobra airguns Venom Breech. It makes the 2240 into a repeater using Marauder clips.
