Title: Setting up my 13 ci bottles
Post by: Mr. Panther on July 13, 2020, 10:48:35 AM
Well yesterday I took my first foray in to setting up my regulators on my bottle fed guns, ( .177 gauntlet and .177 QB79). As I had never done it before I stared off small and worked my way up. The first bottle I did was a Tippmann bottle I purchased on Ebay for $53 with tax and shipping, and the second was the ninja bottle I had on the Gauntlet. the Tippmann had a pretty tight stack on the spool, and I was afraid I might not be able to add any shims to it. It was set to just under 850psi, at first I tried .010 to see if it would fit and it did I then added .020 more shim to it and it fit. I pumped it up to 1500 psi as a precaution to not burst my disk. I placed it on my gauge and it went to 1450 psi. Well....I took out the .020 and put in a .010 shim and it went to 1050psi which is right where I wanted it for my stock QB79.
Next was the Gauntlet  using a Ninja regulator . I added .015 to the stack and it raised it to 1350 from under 1100 psi that it stated to have. I wanted it right at that limit as it will be used for under 30 yards for light squirril and pesting.
So... I am satisfied with my first try at this, and I am happy I now have things set up the way I like them. Many kudos to Hajimotto, Nervoustrigger, and Bob for all the articles they had on this. Made something I was leery of doing my self , to having the confidence to do myself. I bought a big gauge, that went from zero to 3000psi reading in 50 psi increments and is a lot easier to read, and more accurate I believe too.
so thanks to all the contributers on GTA that enabled me to do this and have the confidence that I could do it. Thank you all for your tutorials on this.
