Title: 1st GHog of the year! ( and probably the only one)

I usually get one but they dont come around much.this one surprised me as its so hot ( 90 at the moment and that's with some clouds). I was out getting some Japanese beetles off my roses and saw this one ( as it turned out female) along a line of bushes and mixed weeds. I got the Disco with hunter extremes and got to a hide at about 30yds. Nice shooting Dave!  Congrats on your 1st G-hog of the year.  Maybe more will move in now.  Where there is 1 there is a few more..

Nice work! That sure is a step up from chippers and red squirrels! Did it take a moment take in the view through the scope?

Good shooting Dave... if there’s one? There are more around. I’ve been observing one near my old chicken barn giving it a pass in hopes of attracting more. Well I just confirmed the existence of three more. Now I’m interested...

Friend of mine has been live trapping them, then driving them away and releasing them.  After he gets one out, about 3 weeks later another shows up and starts using the same burrow.  I get 1 or 2 per summer, but they're never around long, they keep using a tunnel that is near a fox den, not the smartest move.
