Title: Local walmart

I was at walmart sunday looking for a new monitor for my security system and thought I would check out the airgun aisle, and was shocked to see all the shelves almost empty what in the heck is going on.

The ones local to me either look like that or the shelving got replaced with locking glass doored cabinets which still don't have much in them and even pellets locked up.

Last time I was at Cabelas I saw the same thing. I’m thinking COVID has people staying at home shooting instead of going out.

My local Wallymart has been experiencing periodic shortages for a couple of months now.  My bet is increased demand for airguns during lockdown coupled with supply chain hiccups. Add to that Walmart's decision to discontinue selling air pistols of any type and to put the rest of the airguns behind glass.  I think that accounts for the impression that airguns are disappearing from the stores.
If Walmart is investing in secure glass display cases for airguns, I don't think they are discontinuing them soon.
