Post by: glassman98 on September 03, 2011, 03:29:24 AM
Monday will be my #70 yrs young, so I ordered myself a NEW gun today. It's a Air Arms Pro Sport in .22 cal. This will be my last gun, and I loved it as soon as I seen it. Will post pic when I get it next Firday. Have a great weekend.

Mark and Richard what do you feed your .22?? What is the recoil like? Med or Hi?

Mav go for it.

Kymike, well maybe???

The recoil on mine is what I would call a pleasant medium. Mine shoots most pellets with very good accuracy. But if I could only shoot one pellet, I would choose the RWS Super Points. For whatever reason, thost give me the tightest groups at all ranges out to 50 yards. I havent tested it any further than that yet.
If you're interested, here is a link to the review I did on mine.

Richard thanks for the info. Your review and a video on AA is what got me looking at them back in June. SS is were I got it from. Craig tested it and found HN FTT shot one hole @ 10 yds. Do you think a Centerpoint 4.5-16x40 scope would told up to this gun?  gman

G-Man if I do my part mine will shoot a sub dime size group at 50yds with CPHP's but I lube my pellets! also as Richard has said these are a very pleasant shooting gun! I have lubed mine and tightened up the spring guide, these rifles are very accurate! :P

I believe that scope will do just fine. But as you well know, scopes will be scopes. One may last forever where another identical one fails.

I use warm water and dish soap, I wash them around with my hand for a few minutes to try and get all the graphite and lead dust off the pellets and then I rinse them until I don't see anymore lead dust in the wash bowl! the I dry them with 2 layers of paper towel, just roll them around to get rid of the excess water then I air dry them, once dry I put them in a small container and put 10 to 15 drops of Ballistol on them and roll them around for a few min's and you good to go! :P

Happy Birthday, G-Man! Mine was the 23rd of August, but I'm a bit older. I believe you and I think alike...age is just a number. I envy you the new rifle. I have a TX200 and would love a Pro Sport. The only thing I question is your statement "this will be my last gun"...yeah, right! Just jokin' with ya.... Have a great Birthday, G, and many more.

I will add my Happy Birthday and congrats to the other responses.  I have been out of work for several months and am thinking about rewarding myself with a new rifle when I find a new job.  You made a good choice.

Got on of them on my list. Only problem is that there's two ahead of it!

Enjoy the milestone, I try to treat them as non-events. If you're not counting, you never get older!

Happy birthday, and DO post the pix and some targets when you get it and get it going.

I dunno guys. I believe him. Some folks make a big purchase like that, and they are just satisfied. Nothing else is needed, except maybe ammo and some glass. To others, it just whets their appetite and they want more and more. (ex. Mark611)

I hope I turn out like our birthday boy here.

My mom's turning 60 tomorrow, and I'm having her up for dinner. I don't think she's ever shot an airgun. I wonder if I can somehow work that into the schedule...

I had my 54th b'day a few months ago. I went of the boil (got side-tracked) and decided to buy myself a new 40" LED TV for my room instead. Love it but now my attention is now "back on track". I just bought a new Zoraki HP-01 a few weeks ago, also known as the Webley Alecto pistol,, to reinforce the fact... I also look at this pistol as my self-birthday present... Hope you had a reall cool 70th...
