I am currently trying to tune my 0.22 m16d, so that:
It is consistent <2% ES
It is accurate (it seems to be when set )
It remains below our crazy uk 12ft lbs limit even after it falls off the regulator (thats about 585fps for a 15.89gr JSB)
Currently the rifles as supplied have their regs set at between 90 and 105 bar which results in a climb of 20-40 fps after falling off the reg. and can result in an 11 ft lbs initial setting being over 12 and hence illegal. The rifle however is consistent when set like that (at 105) when on the regulator.
After several shot strings the pressure required to be set to get only a small or no rise is somewhere in the region of 75-80 bar. (thanks to Bob Sterne's posts or I wouldn't of worked that out)
However:-
1. The regulator dislikes this when filled to 200 bar (failed seals have been changed for better ones and the washers improved, so it now will work)
2. The hammer spring is (or seems to be) too strong to get consistent performance at this pressure setting, making the shots inconsistent and its setting not at all repeatable.
My question is would a lighter hammer spring likely help and if so does anyone know the specification for a m16 spring (spring rate, I can measure the rest) of the standard spring, so that I can order one from a spring supplier

Hi,if you can take accurate measurements of your original spring with a caliber, you can compare with the springs here:
https://www.industrial-springs.com/products/compression-springs/range-a-b-music-wire (https://www.industrial-springs.com/products/compression-springs/range-a-b-music-wire)
This way you can get an idea of your spring rate and find a softer spring.
This site has a minimum amount for an order of about 50 euros, but you can take note of the dimensions of the springs you need and search around.

FAC spring 67.63mm long with 23 coils 1.19mm diameter wire 8.55mm O.D. and 6.09mm I.D.

hi,
I want to get a custom spring made for my Diana Outlaw and you mention the following:
FAC spring 67.63mm long with 23 coils 1.19mm diameter wire 8.55mm O.D. and 6.09mm I.D.
However if you subtract the I.D. from the O.D. you get 2.46 mm, but you say the diameter of the wire is 1.19mm. This doesnt seem correct. Is there a way to verify the correct dimensions? Thanks.

If the gun is inconsistent while on the regulator, either the regulator is malfunctioning or the hammer strike is inconsistent. Just my .02
