Title: Hatsan replacement qe baffles
Post by: rotorwag on June 24, 2020, 03:02:47 PM
Unknown cause/mechanism of injury but I discovered my "hair curler" baffles are damaged on the ends.  I've checked with one_shot and unfortunately his replacememt product is unavailable right now.  Are there other replacement or upgrade products out there?  The only thing I see on fleabay is $50+ plus s&h.  Hatsan has OEM for $10 each.

You may have luck getting Insanity to 3d print some for you.

I tried this one and it worked for me.

Bought it more for the air stripping.....

That baffle system looks great, very well thought out and explained.

I'd buy that.....if it comes how it is calimed/looks,would certainly be a quick solution.

Lot easier than reworking the existing 4 chamber system.

I replaced 1 of the 2 'hair curler' ones with 3D printed baffles, leaving 1 of the OEM ones to 'collect lead dust' and replaced both of the cup type baffles with 3D printed baffles.
I can't say it made a lot of difference sound wise but there are options out there for those that have access to 3D printing.

I do know the printed baffles work though. I put a 9 baffle group on my AT44 and it cut the sound by a ton.

It went in real good.. with close tolerance to the bore of the shroud and lenght... I've taken it out twice to check for clipping.. but no... at least in mine it is very well centered.

To be brutal, found I "liked" my Flashpup but don't "love it".....like it enough to keep/shoot it but  not enough to "baby it" with any more toys.

Basically it's a "hook up"rather than a "romance".

So I "fixed" the issue system.

1. tossed the felt pads...testing didn't show them doing "jack".
2.Made 3 bushings out of an old dead "Sharpie" to make for 6.5 (.26") internal holes, 10mm external diameter so they'd kinf of telescope into the bushing ahead of it.
3. Tested in various order...not enough difference to notice.

Noise went down...know there would be more quiet to get, but got to the "like it-don't love it" point where the Flashpup has to live with what it is.
