I have some free time. I have a noisy airgun. I have a bunch of bamboo canes... hmmm... time to go “Gilligan’s Island”
So inner bamboo core with vents, wrapped in felt, stuffed into larger bamboo section. Split bamboo and hose clamp + zip ties to align with barrel. The crazy thing? This works! Just a little pop sound...
I am rocking a home-grown noise suppressor. Maybe time to open a stand at the farmers’ market...

Only lets me attach one photo per message so here’s another.

Bro........that's awesome.

Well done! It does not get more Eco-friendly than that.
I hear that is a "thing" now,... so you may be onto something there! ;)

Appreciate the positivity! I guess it can’t hurt to have some “eco-friendly” with all the lead I’m spraying around my garage. I’m always up for taking care of nature, it’s my favorite thing!
I have an epic *^%#-ton of bamboo in all sizes since my yard is full of this stuff. It is timber bamboo - owner before me planted it. People tell me I’m crazy to grow it on my property and I tell them it was there when I got here. There is no way I have the capacity to dig this Grove up and I don’t have the money to pay someone else to do it. Well at least I can cobble together a noise suppressor whenever I need one.

yep that's Gilligan's island all the way ! ;D ;D ;D

Nice work man!
I wonder if they make bamboo hydro dip film...you could dip the entire rifle then you’d never even notice the Gilligan's Island hush stick ;D
-
I’ll rock the rustic look I think. Keep me from taking myself too seriously. Or maybe I can hydro dip the TalonP to make it look like bamboo...
Pretty amazingly though this is like a one dollar solution to my problem of an overly noisy air gun in my suburban garage. So long as I don’t have to worry about how I look in front of others I’m pretty much good to go at this point. I figure I saved myself 100 bucks at least in the short term. :)

I have tons of it on my property the previous people planted. We hate it.
Mice love it.
I like to burn it......sounds like fire crackers.

I heard that may be the origin of firecrackers actually.

Good job and the simplicity demystifies a suppressor.
I see it's locally sourced
But, is it organic?
Gluten free?
-
Excellent use of materials. Congratulations and nice job.
-
wow... so cool, and good thinking!
-
so cool!
you could manufacture these and sell them to members in tropical zones. no need to wrap your suppressor in camo tape.
