Just playing with my mini. Great results. 100 shots and never climbed or fell more than 3 fps of target speed of 880fps

Yes sir ... currently running a Cobra converted OEM raptor valve in my Mini .20 cal as well. far more stable and consistent at the reduced power level.

Here’s another mod. I use Xisico mags they don’t rattle and are left side loading so easy to see in the field how many shots are left. They are dirt cheap as well you just need a hot glue gun to build up face plate.

Travis, very nice consistency and efficiency! The report is much quicker than a balanced valve...what I’ve been striving for with my .22 Raptor....trying but not nearly as quick. Like you said different tuning for a balanced valve, lighter HS tension but quicker striker. Fun stuff! Like what you have done with the other mags 👍. Thank you for the post!

That's some very neat stuff. Where are you getting the mags from Travis? I did a quick search and did not find any.
Thanks Bill C!

Very cool demonstration of the right tool for the job. Once Travis and Scott shared the Cobra tech with the rest of us it really opened up the world of tuning.
I recently went a little off script and put a Cobra valve in my regulated Bulldog. it runs a peek poppet and no return spring. With a stock tube and 42.5 gram hammer it will do 15 very tight 155fpe shots.... Simply changing to an unregulated stock length JSAR titanium tube, OEM hammer and spring it will do 3 shots just under 300fpe with a 3700psi fill. Swapping between these tunes is very straighforward and repeatable. Same valve performs very well in both applications......not very many valves will do that.
We've seen Cobra valves used in many 60fpe and below .177.22.25 applications and the 90ish fpe .30 WAR applications, I don't recall seeing many examples like the one above.
Though not as sexy as a current tech balance valve, the Cobra still reigns supreme in many applications.

I wish someone, or a group of someones would buy out Jim's WAR stuff, and offer just parts and conversion kits. It would be really nice... No full guns. Just offer the parts:
Valve
Breech
Barrel Tensioning System/LDC mount
Bottle conversion tube
Bottle conversion block/reg (Cobra reg)
TP's to match breech and valve combos
Hammers
SSG's and TSS's
Higher quality magazines
Just focus on putting out the parts. Trust me, if I had the capital/credit to get a business loan I would already have done this. ;) ;D

I thought someone already has

besides the Covid-19 stuff (slowing down production and shipping EVERYWHERE), they've switched to mainly focusing on complete guns now. *shrug* Also, they don't offer cobra valves, cobra reg, separate breeches. I'm not necessarily bashing, it is what it is. I'm just saying it would be nice for the market at large to be able to get just parts...
Or did you mean someone has already bought Jim's company? If that's the case, you have a link?

I thought someone took up the hammer forged barrel part of the business, but not the rest.
-
Read that as well ... barrel bizz portion
-
Ditto on the barrel business being transitioned to a GTA member, I don't recall his name. I am not aware of any publicly available info related to the WAR guns/parts/etc....
-
I didn't know someone had taken up Jim's HF barrels... I'll BOLO for them.

WOW!!! A cobra in a Raptor would be awesome. Travis you sure know how to set'em up right.
As a side note, I spoke to your buddy Gene over at Air Tanks Plus today. That fella has a heart of gold. He's going above and beyond, free of charge at that, to take care of my Stikman issues after having owned it for near 4 years now. Just makes me want to jump that their are those kind of people still hanging around. You know you are one of them, too. Keep in touch my friend.
