Title: New RWS N-Tec 350 in .22
Post by: Hypervelocity 1 on May 09, 2020, 10:47:25 PM
Just received this beauty of an airgun a couple days ago. It's a very gorgeous rifle. Metalwork is flawless. My wife is already jealous.
It was on sale from AOA for $224. They sent a chrony sheet with test results, and inspection list with it also. !4.66 gr. was hitting 922fps.
I am shooting 15.89 JSB in her, and it is a nice combo. Very accurate with the open sights. Have an FFP optic on the way. No trouble out to 60 yds. with tin cans. Leaves a big old hole too! I will be posting some later developments before summer's out.
      God Bless

Nice lookin shooter, congrats.  Sounds like it's a hard hitter too  :)

I was shooting my .22 350 this afternoon in the backyard range after it being in the gun idle for a very long time and I was as impressed with it as the last time I shot it.  :)

You got yourself a fine rifle sir..

Hello Yogi,
I didn't really think just by looking at the rifle online that I was going to like the stock. And the only reason I bought the gun with this stock is because of the price. But I must say that after shooting and seeing this gun personally, I love the stock. The gun is so long that with this version of the stock, it feels just right in the hands while at the ready. Very comfortable for me. My hands are medium sized and I'm 5'6". I think the deluxe stock may have not shouldered as good for me. It might be better for a bigger fellow though. And one last thing is that in person this stock is beautiful. The pictures I posted were done before cleaning. Nice grain pattern and very dense feeling wood. To me online the gun looked too slim. I can assure you you in person it's proportions are very pleasing. So glad it was on sale cause I wouldn't have paid the other prices. And I would have surely lost out. Thanks for asking Yogi
  God Bless

Thanks Jshooter71,
And I just want to add that this trigger has ruined me. It is truly better than every rifles I own including the pcp guns.
Happy shooting to you too! God Bless.

I just received the same rifle (same irresistible deal at AoA).   I just got around to doing some break-in work on it yesterday in the back yard.  Unfortunately I can't shoot cans because every direction there is risk of  ricochet, so I have to shoot into a target trap I built out of 3/4" plywood and lined with carpet.

This is my first high powered airgun and I have to say I was shocked at the recoil the first time I pulled the trigger. It reminded me of the sharp bite of my 30-30 with hot hand loads!  And the trigger is very good. I think it could be tweaked a bit for hunting (almost too little effort) but the break is extremely crisp.

I shot half a tin of Crosman Premier HP (14.3) and since I'm (1) learning to shoot it (2) breaking it in and (3) need to figure out what pellets it likes, I'm still fairly pleased with the results at 20 yards.  I have a different thread where I'm posting results.

Congrats on the new gun - it will be good to have a community of other folks with more experience than me who also have this gun!

Mike,

I agree the N-tec's are pretty guns.  Of all my guns it is the one that I like to look at the most.
I believe that the only difference between the Luxus version and the regular one is the type of wood.  I think the shape is the same.
Yes the trigger is surprisingly good... 8)

To both Mike and Brent, do you have any trouble with a tight loading chamber?  I had to chamfer mine to get the bottom of the pellet skirts to sit flush.

I don't really have enough experience to know what is "normal" but I have found that pellets do often require a bit of fiddling to get them to push all the way in.  Then sometimes they appear to be a bit crooked.

I was hoping that even if a pellet is a tiny bit cockeyed in the starting position that the trip down the barrel quickly stabilizes it, but perhaps I'm wrong....

Darn. I'm really tempted. My problem is I live in a quiet neighborhood, and I'm trying to tone things down a bit. How loud is this rifle, compared to say a D34 in .22?

Help me out if you can, I know these aren't gonna last long...  :(

This rifle is loud. It sounds like a nail gun that a framing contractor uses.  Only slightly quieter (to my ear) than a .22 LR rifle.  I’m currently visiting my mom in the country and even here I’m a bit nervous shooting it in the backyard, worrying about people across the little canyon between us. No way I’d get away with it in my suburban back yard at home.

Wow. Thanks, of course that makes perfect sense!

You just saved me from a terrible needless expenditure! (dang)  :D

Also, when I talked to him about this rifle, the guy on the phone at AoA said they were selling 5 a week and they would last about 5 months at that rate.   So you have some time.

Needless perhaps. But not terrible. :)

The terrible part is that I'm fresh out of excuses to buy another air rifle :(

I'll keep looking  ;)

Nice Brent! Glad you are having a great experience with your rifle.
Yogi, The only pellet I ran through this monster is the 15.89gr JSB. No issues with the fit. If I try some other one's I will check. If there's an issue I'll let you know. The thing I did notice when loading is like Brent mentioned, the pellet looks a little angled when fully inserted, but no accuracy issues . I really couldn't be happier with this purchase. Honestly  with the new FFP scope mounted, I believe that I could print smiley faces in the bottom of soup cans at 60 yds! As soon as I pull that T-06, wherever those cross hairs are, instantly a hole appears!

I'm slowly working my way through the first tin of Crosman Premier 14.3 HPs to break her in, but pretty impressed with the accuracy at 25 yards so far....

When I ordered the gun, Darrel (Darren?) told me that they had 500 of them, and at the rate they were selling, would last about 3-5 months.  I noticed last weekend that they are now GONE so there MUST be more people on this forum with some of these discontinued RWS/Diana 350 N-Tec Classic rifles...
