Was looking at them and they sure look identical! Has anyone used the Gauntlet version in a Fortitude or Marauder, and what was your experience?
-
I have used them in both a Synrod and Fortitude. They work great. And about $5 cheaper than Crosman mags at Amazon.
-
They also fit the Nova Liberty and Freedom, and the Aspen.
In .22 the Umarex mags are $9.09 on Amazon right now.

Thanks folks!!The listing says comes as a pack of 2?!
I ordered it. Going through shots is so much more quicker with a PCP!!

Yes it says that, but only received one the last time I ordered. They will refund if you return it. But it is still a good buy for 1 mag.

Ain't that the truth! I've got three for my R10 which keeps me out of trouble on hunting trips, but I also pack 30 extra pellets in case I get to shooting up the place. After that I need to find air, which I intentionally don't pack so I don't blow too much time out there.

.177 and .22 Gauntlet and Crosman magazines will interchange.
.25 is slightly different---.25 Gauntlet has a 7/16 barrel, .25 Mrod is 1/2. While less than ideal due to a sloppy fit, you can use .25 Mrod mags in a Gauntlet but you cannot use a .25 Gauntlet mag in an Mrod...
-
John, yes ~10 vs ~16$. I ordered another one just now :)

Thanks, Mike; good to know!

The first Gauntlet magazine just arrived. It works just fine, except for one thing—when not in the rifle, the clear plastic cover will not stay closed like Marauders. So when I have it in my pocket, pellets eventually fall out as the cover rotates freely.
Did I wind up with a defective magazine?
-
gauntlet mags clear cover should not freely rotate. is there a small nipple in the lower left black plastic of the magazine? there should be a corresponding dimple in the clear cover. this is with the magazine properly closed. If they are there i would try to tighten the center screw. it could possibly be too loose. post pics if you can that would help.
-
Thanks, Dan. It is as you described, and it is mostly fine in counter clockwise in that it catches and won’t rotate as easily, but clockwise, it won’t catch and rotated freely.
Putting a bit of pressure on the cover does cause it to catch properly in both directions. I did try to tighten the hex screw/bolt but it is pretty snug already. I loosened it not really expecting much and it didn’t help either.
-
I guess I was a bit too concerned about over tightening and causing damage.
I tried again and tightened it some more and voila! It is fixed! Thanks again,Dan!!
A nice deal at ~$6 less than Crosman :)
-
Ok. No problem. Now with it empty, open it fully counter clockwise like your gonna load it, then let it go. The cover should snap back to almost fully closed, if it doesn't then you may be just a touch too tight. The inner wheel will bind if you go to far. The cover should just barely rock when fully closed. It's a delicate balance I've found with mine.

Thanks again, Dan. It seems to be working great now. I’ve refilled and used it twice.
Amazon’s price just dropped to $7.68 with a limit of two btw, in case anyone is interested.
