Title: Help with my Benjamin trail Np2 SBD !
Post by: Mgc8915 on April 16, 2020, 12:19:37 PM
Hello!
Guys i need some help with my Benjamin trail np2 sbd, it turns out that the barrel shroud starts loosening every time i shoot, one of the screws fall, so i took out the other, and both screw holes that are plastic where broken, so i've put some permatex high temperature thread sealant that i've left from my bike exhaust installation, but i know this is a temporary solution.

Any advice guys?? i don't think the permatex will work because of the plastic muzzle brake.
Any ideas or advise will be appreciated!

thank you!

*****Update*****
after 2 days of putting the permatex, i've started shooting today, after the first shot, the aluminum shroud, moves forward and the plastic muzzle brake moves forward, so definitely permatex wont work, any ideas??

Try the next size larger screw. Let the screw cut the threads, no need to drill holes larger.

Hey thank you for the answer!
The plastic holes are broken, so they’re almost non existent now, the plastic hole walls where very thin so they broke apart, I’ve tried to glue them but it wasn’t successful neither.

What did you end up doing to solve your problem? Did you remove the SBD?

Hello! I’ve ended up making two holes on the silencer and two holes in the plastic just behind the silencer, and put a douple of plastic tie strap, and it works, it’s not the best looking solution but removing the silencer i thing it was going to look worse

HAd no idea.....haven't bought a Crosman springer in like 10 years, so had no idea how thecureent versions attached the shroud.

So even if it was a problem (still is a problem), than  you for the 3rd party information (1st party would be the factory calims....2nd party would be the professional reviewers than never take the loaned test rifle apart...3rd party would be actual end-users).

Basically "f/em".....I like the old NP (which would have been an NP1 if they had known then that there would be an NP2)...but from your description, am not going to be making the new ones a firm recommendation.

Consider...what it looks like only matters to the shooter....whatever is being shot doesn't give a rat'sazz.

I would really like to remove the SBD from my Ironhide and replace it with something that actually works like a TKO.

Any thoughts on how to go about removing the SBD?
