Title: Cleaning out Messages
Post by: Roadworthy on March 25, 2020, 01:58:30 PM
From time to time the Administrator of the site complains available space is running low and asks people to clear out their personal message space.  There is more involved than the inbox and we're asked to delete sent messages, which doesn't appear to happen automatically.  Yesterday I discovered a neat feature - Pruning your messages.  This feature will eliminate messages over two weeks old at the time the pruning is performed.  Does this feature prune sent messages as well or just the inbox?  (Inquiring minds and all that)

Checked my inbox and sent both had 20
After pruning both had 10, so yes it does to answer your question

Clearing up old PMs was important when GTA was donation run on limited hardware and volunteer staff.

Now that GTA is an advertising funded powerhouse with paid staff and "real" server hardware, is pruning PMs really critical to GTA operation?

Just asking.
