Title: Aluminum cover plate
Post by: antithesis on March 22, 2020, 04:23:05 PM
I am definitely a fan of most things from magnum airpower, but I'm not sure about this one thing.

Would  there be any real life advantage to using an aluminum trigger cover plate;? I mean if you are the type who obsesses over having no plastic on their gun?

Is it supposed to add precision? Stiffness? Aesthetic benefit?

I can't imagine any real advantage to this but it looks good and would look VERY good on mine, bit for 40 bucks I'd hope for some other benefit

Probably more on the aesthetics thing.

I am sure it will behave the same way as the plastic one; press the trigger tension and mess up with the cocking mechanism if you tighten it too much.

I must admit, it is a good-looking aftermarket part and I am tempted to get one too.

I am also a big fan of MAP parts, and the owner, Mr. Bill, is an upstanding gent in my book.

Absolutely. If you ask me he got the best smallbore non balance valve out there, tho honestly I'd rather see it in brass or stainless... aluminum corrodes  in any pcp unless anodized. I've been waiting for his new version of the dead blow hammer forever now, he seems confident of it's improvement over the original version so Im waiting even though I am perfectly happy with the original. He says it will crack the valve easier. I got the original and it will work up to 3400psi for me, though a climbing curve don't come on till about 2.8k
