Title: Fenix 400 S carbine accuracy
Post by: Marco2021 on March 12, 2020, 10:32:47 PM
Just picked her up in .22, 2000 model with nice dark stock. Shooting Airarms field 16 g at about  720 fps over my chrony. Numbers are good, gun is solid and we'll looked after but best group at 10 m is 1 inch  regardless of hold or pellet ( best group rested on a sandbag). Is that acceptable or am I expecting too much from a 20 year old gun?
Perhaps I am being to hard on her? Scope is newish Gun city 3-9*40 previously done 100 shots.
Replies appreciated.

Well IMO, these rifle are light weight for their power! I have a Fenix 400 compact with the can, I have owned several of them in .22cal, they shoot the best IMO around 730fps, with a 14.3gn pellet, or heavier if they shoot well? but the light weight of the rifle they do have hold sensitive, until u learn how to consistently hold the rifle? I understand ur pain on this, but reducing the power maybe the only way to get the accuracy u desire JMO ;D

Mark, that looks like a Crosman Mendoza in your signature picture? Same old story. Artillery hold, tighten the stock screws, clean the barrel and find the pellet it likes.
